UNIT 5: Ee LESSON 1: Part 1, 2, 3

I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson Ee recognize and pronounce the letter Ee and its sound

correctly

- Understand, recognize and say the three Ee words.

- Write the letter Ee

- Vocabulary: egg, elf, elephant.

- Sight words: hello

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant

III Method:

- Model – Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

- Some techniques can be used: music chairs

IV Procedures:

1 Organization:

1D Wednesday, November 21st 2018

2 Warm up (5’)

Activity: Matching game

- Make two columns on the board, A and B

- Write letters a, b, c, and d in column A and all, pple, ragon, and arrot

- Ask Ss to match the letters in column A with column B and make four words

- Ask Ss to write the words in their notebooks

- Choose individual students to come to the board, draw lines and say the words3

New lesson

Activitiy 1: Listen, point, repeat Colour

(5’)

- T introduction of letter e, Its sound and

how to pronounce the words beginning with

Ee.

a Vocab:

egg (picture)

elf (picture)

elephant (do action)

1 Listen, point , repeat.

- T use a card with letter Ee or write on the

board the letter Ee to introduce to the Ss the

new lesson

- Ask Ss how to pronouce the letter name

and the letter sound by saying “ This is the

letter Ee/i:/ The letter Ee makes the /e/

sound

- Ss listen and repeat

- T ask Ss to repeat several times and check

student’s pronunciation and its sound

- Ss work in group

- Ss work individually

- Ss look the cards and repeat

- T use gestures (hand actions ) to help

students to understand the meanings of the

three words

- Ss check the meaning and repeat

- T check student’s understanding T says

the words,all ss do actions and vice versa

- T call some Ss to say the words out loud

and correct their mistakes

- Ss remember the cards

Activity: Pupils’ books open (5’)

- T point to and elicit the sound of the letter

- T play the CD

- T ask Ss to listen, repeat and then colour

the letter

Activity 2: Listen and point Match (5’)

- T asks students look at the book and listen

to the words: egg, elf, elephant

- T ask Ss to listen and repeat the words

- T put up the phonics cards on the board

- T point to the card and say: Hello, egg.

- T ask the students come to the board

- Ss point to the card and say: Hello, egg.

- T monitors and give feedback

Activity: Pass the phonics card Game (5’)

- T use the cards of Ee, egg, elf, elephant

- T devides Ss in to 2 teams and give the

first students of each team a phonics card

and say “Go”

The students say the corresponding words

and pass the phonics card over their head to

- Show the letter Ee again, have students

write the Ee in air with their fingers.

- Learn and practise reading skills and sing a song

Vocabulary: review

Sight words: an, hello.

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant

III Method:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work,group work

- Some techniques can be used: music chairs

2 Warm up (5’)

- Put the phonics cards on the board

- Name the items, one at a time

- T ask Ss mime the corresponding actions and day the sound of the letter

e.g Teacher: (pointing the egg) Say ‘egg’

Class: (miming cracking open an egg) /e/

3 New lesson

Activity 4 Listen Read along (10’)

- T encourage the students to point to the

picture of the word that the teacher says

- T play the CD and ask Ss to listen to the

story once

- T play the CD again

- Ss listen and point to the pictures of the

key words when they hear them in the story

- T read the storyand ask Ss follow their

books

- Teacher reads the printed words then let

the students look at the pictures and say the

words

- Ss look at the pictures and say the words

- T ask students work in pairs One reads

while the other checks, then they change

Activity: Say the Sight Words (8’)
