REVISION – DO EXERCISES

I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to consolidate the sound of the letters

Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll, Mm and the corresponding words

- Learn and practise reading skills and sing a song

*S’ Tam:

- Can colour and tick the right letter

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to consolidate the sound of the letter Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll, Mm and the

coresponding words

II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant

III Method:

- Model –Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

- Some techniques can be used: Bingo

IV Procedures:

1 Organization:

1D Wednesday, May 8th 2019

2 Warm up (5’)

- T divide class into two team

- T give Ss time to write down as many letters as possible they studied in unit 9-13

- The team with the most correct letters wins

3 New lesson (30')

Activity 1: Colour the right letter (8’)

- T explain the activity and ask Ss to say the

letters

- T ask Ss to colour the right letters that

correspond to each word of the items

*S’ Tam:

- Can colour the right letter

Activity 2: Tick (P) the right picture (6’)

- T explain the activity

- Ss to name the items, the letters and the sounds

- Ask them to put a tick (P) to the correct pictures

that correspond to the letters

*S’ Tam:

- Can tick the right letter.

Activity 3: Write the beginning letter (5’)

- Explain the activity

- Ask Ss to name the items, the letters and the

sounds

- Ask them to write the beginning letter that

corresponds to each picture

- Can write the beginning letter

Activity 4: What’s next? Write (5’)

- Explain the activity

- Ask Ss to name the items in the picture

- Ss define the next item basing on the logical

form

- Write the words of the defined items

- Can write the beginning letter

Activity: toss the ball (6’)

- Play any song from the previous lessons

- Students stand up and toss the ball when the

music is being played

- Randomly, stop the music, the student who is

holding the ball has to say a word

3 Write the beginning letter.

Activity:Guess

- T divide the class into two teams, A and B

- T ask a student from one team to come to the board

- Whisper one of the vocabulary words (from unit 9-13) to the student

- Without speaking, the student act out by gesturing

- The first team to guess the word correctly wins a point

- Repeat the activity with a student from the other team

- The team with more points wins the game

3 New lesson (30')

*Activity 1: Colour the pictures that start with

the /I/ sound (6’)

- Elicit the letters and their sounds

E.g letter I says /ɪ/

- Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the

sound and the name of the item

E.g I - /ɪ/- ink

- Ask the students to colour in the pictures

- Tell the students that they can decorate the

picture following what they like or write the

words under each picture

*S’ Tam:

- Colour the letter and the picture of Ii

*Activity 2: Colour the pictures that start with

- T elicit the letters and their sounds

E.g letter J says /ʤ/

- Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the

sound and the name of the item
