UNIT 10: Jj LESSON 3: Part 6, 7

I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to practise the sound of the letter

Jj and the coresponding words

Vocabulary: jacket.

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant

III Method:

- Model – Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

- Some techniques can be used: Craftwork, Thumbs Up or Down.

IV Procedures:

1 Organization (1’).

1D Wednesday, March 13th 2019

2 Warm up (5’)

- T asks Ss to open their notebooks In two minutes, the students write as many

Jj as they can The winner is the student who has written the most

3 New lesson (30')

Teacher and Students’s activies Contents Ps (Tam) Activity 1 Say the sounds Colour the right

pictures (10')

- T ask Ss to look at the picture in the book and

name each object

- Decide the beginning sound for each word of

the picture

- T asks Ss to circle the pictures of the words

which have the sound /dʒ/ at the beginning

Activity: Yes or No (5')

- T hold up the phonics cards, one at a time, say

the word

- T ask Ss individual to say yes or no

e.g Teacher: hold up the jam card,say “jelly”

Student:“No”

Teacher:“Good! So, What’s this”

6 Say the words

Activity 2 Point and repeat Colour (10')

- T show Ss the jacket phonics card Point to it

and say: / / - jacket Ask them to repeat.

- Mime putting on a jacket and say: / / -

jacket Encourage the students to do the same

- T point to the pictures, Ss do corresponding

actions and say the words

- T play the CD, Ss listen and repeat

- T ask Ss to work in pair Point to the pictures

and have students name them

Activity: Where is the letter (5')

- T divide the class into two teams 1 and 2

- Ss search for and circle the letter Jj on these

pages in 5 minutes

- Which team has circled the most Jj will wins

7 Point and repeat.

I Objective:

recognize the corresponding pictures.Write the letter Jj

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant

III Method:

- Model – Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

IV Procedures:

2 Warm up (5’)

- T ask Ss to listen to the chant in lesson 1 Unit 10

- T ask Ss to sing and act to the chant

3 New lesson (30')

- T write on the board the big J and small j

- T point to the letter J and say out loud

“This is the letter J /dʒeɪ/ The letter J

says //.”

- T point to the letter j and say out loud

“This is the letter j /dʒeɪ/ The letter j

says //.”

- T ask Ss to repeat its sound chorally, then

individually

Activity: Trace and match (7')

- T ask Ss to read the sounds and the objects

in each question in the book

- T ask Ss to trace the big and small letters

in the book

- Students read the objects again and decide

what sound is at the beginning of the words

in the pictures

- T ask Ss match the sounds with the

corresponding words of the pictures by

using a pencil and a ruler to draw a line

Activity 3: Say the words Circle the

correct letter (8')

- T ask Ss to look at the letters and the

pictures in their activity book, read the

letters and the words of each picture

- T ask Ss to define the sound and the letter

for each group of pictures

- T ask Ss to circle the sounds which have

just defined

- T give feedback

Activity 4: Say the sounds Colour the

right shape (7')

- T asks Ss to read the pictures in the

activity book

- T asks Ss to colour the shape and the

sound of the words
