By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about transportation, using

simple present, “How” questions and “by car / bike / train ”

- Lesson plan, English book visual aids, projector, laptop, speaker

C METHODS: T/ WhC, pair, group, individual work

II.Warmer (5’)

Guessing game

- ASk ss to prepare a piece of paper

- Teacher writes the sentence on the board and ask ss to copy down

- Ask students to choose the place in town (factory, museum, post office .) to

complete the sentence Keep it secret

-Teacher models:

I live near a

T: Do you live near a bank?

S1: No , I don’t

T: Do you live near a post office?

S1: Yes , I do

Pre-teach vocab

- T sets the scene: Look at the pictures Who are in

the pictures? What are they doing?

- Ss listen to the dialogue

- T asks sts to practice saying the dialogue in open

pairs then in close pairs

Model Sentences :

- T: You are Lien How do you go to school?

- St: I go to school by bike.

- T asks sts to repeat the answer and the question

- T: Look at the picture How does Lien go to school?

- St: I go to school by bike.

- T asks sts to repeat the answer and the question

- Sts copy the model sentences

Step 2 : Practice : (16’)

- Run through all word cues

- T models => sts repeat

- T asks sts to name some of means of transports

- T has sts tell the names of the people they are going

to listen about

- T asks sts to listen twice and write the short answers

next to the names.

Step 3 : Production : (8’)

Noughths and crosses: (using the information from

"Listening")

- Divide the class into 2 teams

- One team is Noughts (0) and the other is crosses(x)

- One team starts choosing a number and makes a

question and an answer with the given words If the

question and the answer are correct, T puts a mark (O

or X ) in that square.

- The first team to get 3 in a row (across, down or

diagonally) wins the game

E.g - How does Ba go to work?
