THE BODY

Lesson 1 : A1-2

I.Aims : By the end of the lesson , Ss will have known some nouns of parts of the body

- To develop listening, speaking, reading skills

- To make Ss aware of the importance of keeping the body clean

II.Language contents :

- Vocabulary: Vocabulary related to parts of the body

- Structures: What is this ? This is his hand.

What are those ? Those are his shoulders

III.Teaching aids : textbook, cassette, tape.

IV.Procedures :

1 Warmer : Jumble sentences

3 Nam / are / Lan / what / doing / and / ?

2.New lesson :

* Pre- teach vocabulary

body (n): thân thể

head(n): đầu

shoulder(n) : vai => two shoulders

chest (n) : ngực

arm (n) : tay

hand (n): bàn tay

finger(n) : ngón tay

leg(n) : chân

foot (n) : bàn chân => two feet

toe(n): ngón chân

* Checking vocabulary: ( What and where )

T touches the part of her / his body and say the word for it - Ss do after

- Ss pratice in pairs as the model sentences – some feedback

What is that ? That is his head

What are those ? Those are his shoulders

* Games :

- T touches the part of his / her body and sometimes say the incorrect word for it, but Ss touch the correct part of the body Ss who do incorrectly must stand up The last student who still sit down wins the game

- Ask for the numbers of some parts of the body by the question “ How many ( shoulders) ? “

- Some write down with the plural nouns

- Game : Hand claps

T : one head _ Ss : one head ( one hand clap )

T : one head,two shoulders _ Ss : one head , two shoulders ( 3 hand claps )

Ss who have wrong hand claps must stand up

T asks Ss to listen and repeat

Then Ss to read them aloud before the class

Ss : It’ black

T : What color are her eyes ?

Ss : They are brown

T explains structure : What color ? màu gì ?

a) What color + is + subject (singular) ? It’s + màu sắc

b) What color + are + subject ( plural) ? They ‘re + màu sắc

It’s similar , Ss work in groups and choose a doll (B3), but don’t speak your partners , other Ss to ask about doll’s colors and speak picture which they choose

Then Ss ask and answer about themselves
