*Muốn chuyển đổi từ một câu chủ động (active voice) sang một câu bị động (passive voice), câu chủ động bắt buộc có 3 thành phần cơ bản:

Ngoài ra, câu chủ động có thể có các thành phần phụ khác như trạng từ (Abverbs) chỉ thể cách (manner), nơi chốn (place), thời gian (time) … 4

*Các lưu ý khác khi chuyển đổi từ câu chủ động sang câu bị động:

 Ved/3 (past participle/ pp): quá khứ phân từ/ phân từ quá khứ

*Các em theo dõi sơ đồ sau:

Passive: S to be _ Ved/3 (manner) + (place) + (time) (by_O)

Lưu ý khác:

1) Bỏ “by_O” nếu O là: me/ us, you, him/ her/ it/ them; people, someone/ somebody, everyone/ everybody, no one/ nobody.

2) Trạng từ chỉ thời gian (adverbs of time) phải được đặt cuối câu bị động.

3) TO BE thay đổi theo thì hoặc dạng của động từ chính (V) trong câu chủ động:

a/ Simple present tense: Thì hiện tại đơn
