1.Knowledge- By the end of this lesson, students will be able to know and use

travel items and practice to pronunce the sounds / t / and / st /.

+ Vocabulary: plaster, walking boots, painkillers, suncream, scissors, sleeping bag

+ Grammar:

2 Skills: Practice and develope lisening and speaking skills.

3.Attitude: Educate students to know what to bring when they travel and they will

be interested in learning English more

- T plays the recording twice

- Ss listen and do individually then they compare with their partners

- T gets Ss’ answers and corrects

A OBJECTIVES:

1.Knowledge- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use and practice

superlative adjectives and modal verb: “must”

+ Vocabulary:

+ Grammar: Superative adjectives and modal verb “must”

2 Skills: Practice and develope lisening , writing ,speaking skills.

3.Attitude: Educate students to know the value of natural wonders in Viet Nam and

also in the world and advice them should do good things to protect natural

wonders

Step1: Listening ( 10 minutes)

2 Ba Be Lake is the largest lake in Viet Nam

3 Niagara Falls is the highest waterfall in the world

4 Tra Co Beach is the longest beach in Viet Nam

5 The Amazon is the widest river in the world

6 The Sahara is the hottest desert in the world

- T asks one good student to act as Vy, and read the sentences to the class

- Ss listen and tick T / F

- T checks Ss’ answers by reading the sentences again, asking Ss to students to stand if they think the sentence is true, or remain seated if they think the sentence

is false

* Activity 2: Listen and check.

- T plays the recording twice

Step2: The comparatives and the superlatives ( 17 minutes)

* Activity 1: Watch out ( Part 3 p 51)

- T asks Ss to look back at Vy’s sentences, find and underline all the examples of

“est”

- T asks Ss to compare No 6 with the other sentences Ask what is different about

“hottest”?

- Ss should remember examples from comparative sentences in the previous unit

- T reminds Ss of the rule Then give some adjectives and ask if the consonant is doubled, eg big (yes), fast (not), wet (yes), green (no)

* Activity 2: Complete the passage ( Part 5 p 52)

- T shows a map of the world/globe Then point out Africa, Antarctica, Russia and Nepal and ask Ss what they think the places are like

Do you think Africa is hot or cold?

Do you think there are deserts there? Or waterfalls?

Do you think it’s the same or different to Viet Nam?

- T asks Ss to read the passage quickly to check their answers

- Ss complete the passage with the correct words Pairs can practise role-playing the completed passage

Step 3: Modal verb: must ( 10 minutes)

- T sets the scene: T shows the picture of Vy then set the scene: “Vy is giving Mai some feedback

- T asks Ss to read the “feedback” p 52 then and underline the forms of “must” You must arrive on time!

- T checks form, meaning, use, the intonation

Form: S + must / mustn’t + Vinf + obj

Meaning: Translate the model sentences into Vietnamese

Intonation:

*Activity 1: Write - it - up ( Part 8 p 52)

- T shows and asks Ss to look at the classroom rules in part 8 p 52 then T runs through

- T gives the instructions: Write some more rules for you and your classmate

- T models one

We mustn’t pick flowers in the school garden

- T divides the class into groups of 4 or 5 and asks them to write in groups

- T gets one or two groups’ writings then corrects T may give marks for Ss

IV Summary: (1 minute)
