UNIT 5: Ee - PART 4, 6, 7

I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to practise the sound of the letter Ee and the coresponding words

- Learn and practise reading skills and sing a song

Vocabulary: review

Sight words: an, hello.

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, computer, projector, soft ware

III Method:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

- Some techniques can be used: music chairs

IV.Procedures:

1 Organization:

2 Warm up (5’)

- Put the phonics cards on the board

- Name the items, one at a time

- T ask Ss mime the corresponding actions and day the sound of the letter

e.g Teacher: (pointing the egg) Say ‘egg’

Class: (miming cracking open an egg) /e/

3 New lesson

Activity 4 Listen Read along (6’)

- T encourage the students to point to the picture

of the word that the teacher says

- T play the CD and ask Ss to listen to the story

once

- T play the CD again

- Ss listen and point to the pictures of the key

words when they hear them in the story

- T read the story and ask Ss follow their books

- Teacher reads the printed words then let the

students look at the pictures and say the words

- Ss look at the pictures and say the words

- T ask students work in pairs One reads while

Activity: Say the Sight Words (5’)

- T point to and say the sight words: this, is, an

- Ss listen and repeat

- T calls some students read them aloud

Activity 6 Listen and tick (ü) (5’)

- T point to the letters and revise the sounds

- T explain the activity

- T play the CD

- T ask Ss to listen and tick the correct letter

sound

- Go around and provide any necessary help

Activity: Mime the Word (5’)

- T ask Ss to stand at their desks

- Say the word, e.g It’s an elephant

- Ss repeat and perform a simple action

e.g Students say It’s an elephant and mime

being elephants for a few seconds

Activity 7 Listen, point and repeat Colour the

pictures of the words that start with the e

sound Say the e words (7’)

- T show Ss the elbow phonics card Point to it

and say: /e/ - elbow Ask them to repeat

- Do action like elbow and say /e/, elbow

- Encourage the students to do the same

- Play the CD

- Ask Ss listen, point to and repeat the word

- Name some colours and ask the students to

repeat

- Ask Ss colour the pictures which have Ee in

them

- Give time for Ss to colour in the ‘egg’ and

‘elephant’ that have Ee in them.

Activity: Craftwork (4’)

- Ask Ss to take out their notebooks

- Ask Ss to choose one word the draw the letter

and the picture in their notebooks

- Tell Ss to colour the letter and the picture

6 Listen and tick (ü)

Answer:
