- Have students play a game: toss the envelope

1 Listen, point and repeat Colour (10’)
- Use a card with letter Hh (or write on board
the letter Hh) to introduce to the students the
new lesson
- Instruct the students how to pronounce the
letter name and the letter sound by saying:
“This is the letter H /eɪtʃ/ The letter H says
/h/.”
- Repeat several times and check students’
pronunciation (letter H /eɪtʃ/ and its sound /h/)

page 51, trace and colour the letter Hh

- Use the phonics cards on the board and have
the students sing the chant with hat Do the
same with hen and hippo.
- The whole class sings the whole chant Do the
chant again using gestures for each word
