REVIEW 1 (Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd)

I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to consolidate the sound of the letter

Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd and the coresponding words

- Learn and practise reading skills

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, computer, projector, soft ware

III Method:

- Model – Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

- Some techniques can be used: music chairs

IV Procedures:

1 Organization:

2 Warm up (5’)

Activity: Run and Touch

- T put up some phonics cards on the board

- Line up students into 2 teams of 6

- Call a student from each team to stand 1m from the board

- Read words out loud, one at time (e.g ant)

- T monitor and corect their mistake

3 New lesson (30’ )

Activity 1: Match and colour Say the letter and

the sound (7’)

- T explain the activity

- T ask Ss to say the letters

- T ask Ss to match the upper case letters to the

lower case ones

- Ss say the letter and the sound

- T ask Ss individual to repeat the letter and sound

Activity 2: Look and tick (P) (6’)

- T explain the activity

- T to name the items

- T ask Ss to tick the correct letter that corresponds

to each picture

- T go around and provide any necessary help

Activity 3: Say the words Draw lines to

match(5’)

1 Match and colour Say the letter and the sound.

2 Look and tick

- T explain the activity.

- T ask Ss to name each picture

- T ask Ss to match the pictures that begin with the

same letter then match to the corresponding letter

- T go around and provide any necessary help

Activity 4: Listen and circle (5’)

- T explain the activity

- T say the names of the items

- T play the CD

- T asks Ss listen and circle the correct picture

Activity: Get in line (7’)

- T calls 12 Ss to come to the front of the

classroom and make a circle

- T gives Ss randomly 12 phonics cards of the

words they have learnt Say: Go! Ss must find and

get in line with other students holding cards

beginning with the same letter The first students

to make a complete line win the activity

4 Listen and circle

Answer key:

1 – apple

2 – bee

3 – clock

4 - drum
