I Aim and Objectives

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Recognize and pronounce the letter Ff /ef/ and its sound/f/ correctly.

- Understand, recognize and say the three Ffwords.

story books

I Warm-up (5’)

- Greet students

- Have students sing the chant in lesson 1, keep

the rhythm by clapping their hands and doing

hand actions

II New Lesson

4 Listen Read Along (Track 38) (10’)

- Ask the students to point to the picture of the

word that the teacher says

- Play the CD Have the students listen to the

story once

- Play the CD again The students listen and

point to the pictures of the key words when they

hear them in the story

- Read the story The students follow their

books

- Teacher reads the printed words then let the

students point to the pictures and say the words

- Ask students work in pairs One reads the

printed words while the other points to the

pictures and says the words

Activity: Say the Sight Words (3)

- Have students repeat

- Call on some students read them aloud and

correct pronunciation (if any)

6 Circle the right letters (5’)

- Point to the letters, name the items and revise

the sounds

- Explain the activity

- Ask students to look at the pictures and circle

the corresponding letters

- Go around and provide any necessary help

7 Listen, point and repeat Colour the

pictures of the words that start with the f

*Listen, point and repeat (5’)

-nShow the students the fork phonics card

Point to it and say: /f – fork Ask them to repeat

- Do action like fork and say /f/, fork

- Encourage the students to do the same

- Say the letter and ask students do the action

- Play the CD

- Ask students listen, point to and repeat the

word

*Colour the pictures of the words that start

with the f sound Say the f words (5’)

- Point to pictures and have students name them

- Name some colours and ask the students to

repeat

- Ask the students to colour the pictures which

have Ff in them

- Give the students 4 minutes to colour in the

‘frog’ and ‘fish’ that have Ff in them

- Go around the classroom providing any

necessary help

- Ask the students to take out their notebooks

- Ask them to choose one word the draw the

letter and the picture in their notebooks
