Date of preparing: 12 10 2018 WEEK 6 - Period 6

UNIT 3: Cc – PART 4, 6, 7

I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognize and say the three Cc words correctly, do the actions, practise the sound of the letter Cc and the

coresponding words

Vocabulary: car

Sight words: with, I , am, on

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, computer, projector, soft ware

III Method:

- Model – Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

- Some techniques can be used: Craftwork, Thumbs Up or Down

IV.Procedures:

1 Organization:

2 Warm up (5’)

- T divides Ss in 3 groups of cat, carrot and clock.

- T play the chant in Lesson 1

- Each group mimes the corresponding actions

3 New lesson.

Activity 4 Listen Read along(7’)

- T encourage Ss to point to the picture of the

word that the teacher says

- T play the CD and ask Ss to listen to the

story once

- Play the CD again Ss listen and point to the

pictures of the key words when they hear them

in the story

- T read the story Ss follow their books

- T reads the printed words then let Ss look at

the pictures and say the words

- T asks Ss work in pairs One reads while the

other checks, then they change roles Or one

4 Listen Read along:

reads the printed words while the other looks

at the pictures and says the words

Activity: Chinese Whispers (4’)

- T divide the class into 2 or 4 teams with the

same numbers and have them make lines

- The first student of each team runs to the

teacher (at the same time) Whisper a

word/words to them

- The first student whispers the word/words to

the student behind them until the final student

shouts out the word

- The winning team is the first one to shout out

the correct word

Activity 6 Match (6’)

- T elicit the letters by saying ‘This is the letter

A The letter A says /æ/”

- T elicit the pictures by doing the actions and

asking students to say the words

- Follow the same procedure for the other

letters

- T ask Ss to match the upper case letters to

their corresponding picture and lower case

letters

- T go around and provide any necessary help

- T devides Ss into 2 teams, A and B and put

one of the phonics cards on the board

- T ask Ss from Team A to identify the sound

(1 point), the picture (1 point), or both (2

points)

- Continue with a student from Team B

- T monitors and prides the winner

Activitiy 7 Listen Point and repeat (8’)

- T point to pictures and have students name

them

- T name some colours and ask Ss to repeat

- T ask Ss to colour the pictures which have

Cc in them

- T gives 4 minutes to colour in the ‘cat’ and

‘carrot’ Go around the classroom providing

any necessary help

- T divides Ss into two teams 1 and 2

- T hide the phonics cards around the

classroom

- T write the following for each team: 1 -cat,

carrot2 - clock, car

- Ss in each team have to ‘hunt’ for the

phonics cards of their team

- T play the song (Track 18) from lesson 2

The first team to find all their words before the

end of the song is the winner
