Lesson 1: Part 1, 2.

I Objectives

1 Knowledge: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: greeting and

responding to greetings formally

Sentence patters: Good morning + N

Vocabulary: Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, goodbye

2 Skills: Develop Ss speaking and listening skills.

3 Attitude: Ss know how to greet when meeting adults and friends.

II Teaching aids

1 Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cards, puppets, projector, soft book.

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks

III Methods:

- Communicative approach

- Techniques:

- Ask and answer

- Work in pairs and individually

- Work in groups, discuss

Warm up (5’)

Say Hello to the class and introduce yourself, using Hello I am + name

3 New lesson.

1 Look, listen and repeat (10’)

- T asks Ss to look at the pictures on the

screen, identify the charaters, give the ideas

- T sets the scence

Ask students to look at the picture in the

book and ask:

Who are they in the picture?

- T asks Ss to listen the recording through

- T plays the recording again, pausing after

each sentence

- T divides the class into two groups

- T checks to make sure Ss can repeat and

understand the dialogue

2 Point and say (15’)

- Ask Ss to look at picture Tell them that they

are going to practice saying the sentence

pattern in pairs:

- T asks Ss to identifythe characters and time

- T sets the scene

*T teaches the new words

- T points topictures on the screen

- T introducestime, reads aloud

* T checks :

- T divides class into 2 groups

- T guides Ss to play a game

- T puts cards on the desks

- T turns on a piece of music, asks Ss to find

out the cards as fast as possible

- T sets the scence using pupets, pictures

- Tell Ss: there are six words in the grid: ( good morning, good afternoon Good evening, goodbye and hello)

- Ask Ss to copy the grid down to their notebooks and select six words at random

to put them in the boxes

- Call out the words until there is a pupil getting three words on a straight line crossed out and calling Bingo! He or She is the winner
