2 Warm up: (5’)
- Greet students
- Show the phonics cards, ask students to do corresponding actions then say the sound
of the letter and words
E.g Teacher: Show the ‘kite’ card
Class: “kite", imitate flying the kite
Have students sing the chant in lesson 1, keep the rhythm by clapping their hands and gesturing

word that the teacher says

6 How many words that start with the K sound can
you see? Circle, point and say (4’)
- Ask students to look at the picture in the book and
name each object
- Decide the beginning sound for each word of the
picture
- Ask students to circle the pictures of the words which
have the sound /k/ at the beginning
- Have some individuals point to the objects of the
words having the k sound and say them again
*Finding the words (3’)
- Divide class into two team
- Ask students to look at the picture in activity 6 again
- Call out the items that students see in the picture
- Each student saying 1 correct item will get 1 point for
his/her team
- The team with the most point wins
7 Listen Point and repeat Colour the pictures of
the words that start with the k sound Say the k
words
* Listen point and repeat (3’)
- Show the students the kangaroo phonics card Point to
it and say: / k / - kangaroo Ask them to repeat
- Mime hopping like a kangaroo and say: / k / -
kangaroo Encourage the students to do the same
- Point to the pictures, the students do corresponding
actions and say the words
- Play the CD, students listen and repeat
- Ask students to work in pair: The first student point to
the pictures and the other student say the word then
change the roles

- Point to the pictures and have students name them
