I Present simple to talk about general truths

- It is used to express an action which is always

true

1.To be :

Aff : He /she / it / singular N + is

I + am

We / you / they /plural N + are

Neg : “am/is/are” + not

Inter : Is/Am/ Are + S ?

2.Ordinary verbs :

Aff : He / she / it / singular N + V/s-es.

I / We / you / they / plural N + V-inf.

Neg.: He / she / it / singular N + doesn’t +

I / We / you / they / plural N + don’t +V

Inter : Do / Does + S + V ?

3 To have :

 Aff. : He / she / it / singular N + has

I / We / you / they / plural N + have

 Neg : S + do / does + not + have

 Inter : Do / does + S + have ?

*Uses :express a habit (always, usually Often,

sometimes, rarely, seldom, never, …

II Past simple :

1.To be :

 Aff. : I / He / she / it / singular N + was

We / you / they / plural N + were

2.Ordinary verbs :

 Aff. : S + V-ed/2

 Neg. : S + didn’t + V(inf.)

 Inter. : Did + S + V(inf.) ?

yesterday, last (year), ago, in +

III (not) adjective + enough + to – infinitive

Enough stands after adj and adv but before N

Example : She is old enough to see that film

She is not clever enough to this thing
