UNIT 12: A VACATION ABROAD LESSON: 6- LANGUAGE FOCUS A.Objectives:

1 Aims: - Help ss practice in past progressive, past progressive

with when and while and progressive tenses with “always”

2 Practice skill:

- Practice reading, writing, speaking, listening skill

3 The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge: Practice in past progressive, past

progressive with when and while and progressive tenses with

“always”

+ Advanced knowledge: Write sentences using structures with

past progressive, past progressive well

4 Basic language:

- Grammar: past progressive, progressive tenses with “always”

- Vocabulary: mailman, drum, race, lose, umbrella

5 Attitude:

- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice in past progressive, progressive tenses with “always” They can give

complaints

B Teaching- aids: Textbook, pictures, posters, computer,

projector

C Methods:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work

- Some techniques can be used: Pelmanism, R & R, matching,

Noughts & Crosses, writing, (exhibition), LN

diễn) thì có hành động khác xen vào ( sử

dụng quá khứ đơn).(An action was

taking place in the past when another

action took place.)

While + past progressive (trong khi)

When + simple past (khi)

- Form: S +was/were + V-ing +

when + S + V (past)

while + was/were + V-ing

(Or : S +was/were + V-ing + while + S

+was/were + V-ing… We will learn this

in other lessons)

- Ask ss to look at the pictures on p.119

- Tell ss to match the phase with the

correct pictures
