Xác định được tình trạng suy dinh dưỡng và các yếu tố liên quan ở trẻ dưới 5 tuổi người dân tộc thiểu số huyện Bắc Trà My tỉnh Quảng Nam, làm cơ sở lựa chọn các giải pháp can thiệp hiệu quả
Thử nghiệm thành công mô hình can thiệp: “Phòng chống suy dinh dưỡng trẻ em dựa vào vai trò người có uy tín và bối cảnh đặc thù của nhóm đích”, với 3 nhóm giải pháp gồm nâng cao năng lực cộng đồng, giáo dục truyền thông tích cực và hỗ trợ của dịch vụ y tế Cải thiện được kiến thức, thực hành và niềm tin bà mẹ thông qua vai trò người có uy tín về cách nuôi dưỡng trẻ em; biết tận dụng nguồn thực phẩm sẵn có tại địa phương cho con ăn uống đều đặn hàng ngày
Cải thiện được tình trạng trẻ em dưới 5 tuổi dân tộc thiểu số huyện Bắc Trà My mắc các bệnh nhiễm khuẩn hô hấp cấp, thiếu máu lâm sàng
Cải thiện được sau can thiệp so với ban đầu về tỷ lệ nhẹ cân, thấp còi trẻ em dưới 5 tuổi dân tộc thiểu số huyện Bắc Trà My Cải thiện khả năng lên kênh suy dinh dưỡng thể nhẹ cân cao hơn gấp 2 lần cũng như cải thiện được cân nặng và chiều cao trung bình trẻ em
Mô hình can thiệp có thể áp dụng mở rộng cho các cộng đồng dân tộc thiểu số vùng miền núi cao ở khu vực Quảng Nam nói riêng và Việt Nam nói chung

Determining the status and related factors of malnutrition among ethnic minority children under 5 years old in North Tra My district Quang Nam province, as a basis for choosing solutions of the effective intervention
The evaluation showed effectiveness of the intervention model: "Prevention of child malnutrition based on the role of the prestigious locals and specific context of target groups", with regards to three strategies, including community’s ability enhancement, participatory communication and support of health services
Improving in mother’s knowledge, practices and beliefs through the role of the prestigious locals in child care; taking advantage of available food sources in the local for the daily regular diet of their children
Improving in the situation of children diseases as for acute respiratory infections, clinical anemia
Compared to baseline assessment, the intervention improved in the rates of underweight, stunting among ethnic minority children under 5 years old in North Tra My district Improving in the ability to raise levels of underweight form be higher than two times
as well as improving in average weight and height of children
The intervention model can be applied widely for ethnic minority communities in the high mountainous areas of Quang Nam province in particular and Vietnam in general
