Lesson 1: 4-5-6

I Objectives: By the end of this lesson Ss will be able to:

- Listen dialogues and tick correct pictures

- Write the question and the answer about someone

II Language focus

- Vocabs: who, this, that, It's

- Sentence pattern: Who's that?

III Resources: Sts' book, pictures, CD, cassette.

IV Teaching procedure:

1 Warm up (4’):

- Have sts review the structure at previous lesson, using the

pictures

2 New lesson (30’):

Activity 1: Listen and tick

- Tell ss that they are going to listen and tick the correct

pictures

- Have ss look at pictures and identify characters

2 Pa: Mr Loc Pb: a teacher

- Play the CD twice for ss listen and do the task

- Get ss peer-check

- Call some ss to say their answers

- Play the CD again for ss listen and check the answers

* Keys: 1.b, 2.a

Activity 2: Look and write

- Tell ss that they are going to read and complete the sentences

- Ss look at the pictures, read the text in silence and guess the

words to fill the gaps

- Ask ss do the task

- Have ss check the dialogue in pairs

- Call some pairs to read the dialogues in front of class

* Note: It’s is the contracted form of It is It’s is used in

- Tell ss that they are going to look at the pictures and fill the

gaps

- Have ss look at the pictures, identify the people and read the

on the B.B for ss to copy down into their notebook

Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat

about ages

- Ss look at the pictures, identify the people and read the text in

- Play the CD 1st time for ss listen and point under lines

- Tell ss the goal of activity

prompts under the pictures

- Elicit words to fill the gaps

- Teach ss to count from 1 to 10:

One: 1 Two: 2

Three: 3 Four: 4

Five: 5 Six: 6

Seven: 7 Eight: 8

Nine: 9 Ten: 10

- Write the whole sentences on the B.B and have ss repeat feew

times: How old are you, Tom?

- Have ss practice the pictures in pairs

- Call some pairs to act out the task in front of class

- Tell ss that they are going to practise more with their friends to

ask and answer about age

- Have ss prctise, using their names and ages

- Ask ss to work in pairs in few minutes Then call some pairs to

perform in front of class

- Have ss play game: Throw the ball to review structures

- Ss look at the pictures, guess the age of people and read the

text in silence

- Play the CD twice for ss listen and do the task

- Get ss peer-check

- Call some ss to say their answers

- Play the CD again for ss listen and check their answer

Activity 2 : Read and tick

- Tell ss the goal of activity

- Have ss look at the pictures in part 4 and read the text in

silence

Lesson 3: 1-2-3

I Objectives: By the end of this lesson Ss will be able to pronounce correctly

sounds /f/ and /s/.

II Language focus

- Phonics: sound /f/ in letter five

sound /s/ in letter six

III Resources: Sts' book, CD, cassette.

IV Teaching procedure:

arrangement

1 Warm up (4’):

- Ask ss some question about name, age

- Have ss revise the song: Let’s count from one to ten

2 New lesson (30’):

Activity 1: Listen and repeat

- Have sts look at the words and sentences in part 1; Sts look

and find out differently coloured letters: f and s

- Teach Ss the sounds: f /f/; s /s/

- Ss listen and repeat

- Write letters, words and sentences on the board:

F five I’m five years old.

s six I’m six years old.

- Guide Ss to read

- Play the recording for Ss listen and repeat.

- Ask them to repeat a few times

- Call Ss to read individually

- Have Ss find more words which have the same sounds

- Example:

/f/: fine, five.

/s/: six, seven, spell

Activity 2: Listen and write

- Tell ss that they are going to do a dictation

- Have ss read the text in silence

- Play the CD for ss listen and complete the sentences

- Get ss to exchange their answers with a partner

- Call two ss go to board to write sentences

- Check the answers Then have ss read aloud

* Key:

1 I’m five years old.

2 I’m six years old.

Activity 3: Let's chant

- Tell ss that they are going to say: How old are you? Chant

- Have ss read the chant And check comprehension

- Play the CD 1st time for ss listen and point under lines

- Play CD again and pause every line for ss repeat

- Divide ss into two groups: one chants the questions and other

chants the answers

- Have whole ss practise the chant again

- Ask sts learn by heart the chant at home
