Lesson 1: 4-5-6

I Objectives: By the end of this lesson Ss will be able to practise listening

and writing about classroom instructions

II Language focus

- Vocabs : stand, sit, come, open, close, quiet

- Sentence patterns: Stand up/ Sit down Close/ Open your book

III Resources: CD, cassette.

IV Teaching procedure:

arrangement

1 Warm up (4’):

- Have ss play game: mime and gues

2 New lesson (30’):

Activity 1: Listen and tick

- Tell ss the goal of activity

- Ask ss look at the pictures and identify the instructions

- Play CD three times for ss listen and do the task

- Get ss to swap their answers with a partner

- Call some ss to say their answers

- T comments

- Play the CD again for ss to check the answers

- Answer: 1.a, 2.c, 3.c

Activity 2: Look and write

- Tell ss that they are going to look at the pictures and

complete the sentences

- Have ss look at the pictures and read the text in silence

- Check their comprehension

- Have ss do the task

- Get ss check the answer with a partner

- Call some ss go to board and write their answers

- T checks then write the correct answers on the board for ss to

copy down into their notebook

- Have ss read aloud the sentences

Activity 3: Let's play

- Tell ss that they are going to play game: Simon Says …

- Guide ss how to play

- Have ss repeat the instructions once

- Play CD for ss listen and repeat

- Have ss repeat in groups and then in pairs Then call some

pairs and check

- Call some ss to say their answers

- Play CD again for ss listen and check the answers

- Call some ss perform asking for and giving permission

2 New lesson (30’):

Activity 1: Listen and repeat

- Have sts look at the words and sentences in part 1; Sts look

and find out differently coloured letters: c and d

- Teach Ss the sounds: c /c/; d /d/

- Ss listen and repeat

- Write letters, words and sentences on the board:

c come May I come in?

d down May I sit down?

- Guide Ss to read

- Play the recording for Ss listen and repeat

- Ask them to repeat a few times

- Call Ss to read individually
