and reading about school facilities

IV Teaching procedure:

1 Warm up (4’):

- Have ss play game:m “ Jumbled letters”

2 New lesson (30’):

Activity 1: Listen and number

- Tell ss that they are going to listen and number the pictures

- Have ss look at the pictures and identify the facility in each

picture

- Check ss’ comprehension

- Play the CD twice for ss listen and do the task

- Get ss to swap their answers with a partner

- Call some ss to say their answers

- Play the CD again for ss listen and check the answers

- Answer: 1.b 2.d 3.a 4.c

Activity 2 : Read and circle

- Tell ss the goal of task 5: read the text and circle the correct

words

- Ask ss to look at the pictures and read the text in silence

- Guide ss tips to do the task: Read statements and underline

keywords Then check in passage

- Have ss to do the task

- Get ss peer-check

- Call some ss go to board and circle on extraboards

- Check the answers Then call some ss read the sentences

- Get ss to swap and check their answers with a partner

- Call some ss go to board and fill the gaps

- Play the CD again for ss listen and check the answers

Activity 3: Let's chant

- Tell the class that they are going to say the Is your school

new? chant.

- Have ss to read the lyrics silently

- Check their comprehension

- Play the CD pausing at every line for ss to repeat

- Have ss say the chant in groups

- Have ss read the sentences in silence Check their

- Ask ss to do the task in pairs

- Get ss to swap their answers with a partner

- Call some ss to say their answers

- Call two pairs to read aloud

Activity 2 : Point and say

- Tell ss that they are going to practise talking about school

things

- Using the realias to present the new words

- Elicit words to fill the gaps

- Write full sentences on the board and ask ss to repeat few

- Tell ss the task of speaking

- Have Ss work in pairs to practise: This is…, That is…

- Suggest ss that the first picture is near and the second is far
