I USED TO
1 Cách dùng used to (The use of used to)
Chúng ta sử dụng used to (đã từng) khi nói về thói quen trong quá khứ nhưng nay không còn nữa
Ex: When I was a child, I used to go to Suoi Tien
(Khi còn nhỏ, tôi đã từng đi Suối Tiên.)
2 Cách thành lập Used to
- Thể khẳng định (Affirmative form): S + USED TO + V (BARE INF)
Ex: I used to live in Hue Tôi đã từng sống ở Huế
(nhưng giờ không còn ở đó nữa)
- Thể phủ định (Negative form): S + DIDN’T + USE TO + V (BARE INF)
Ex: My father didn’t use to smoke cigarette
Bố tôi trước đây không hút thuốc (nhưng bây giờ bắt đầu hút thuốc)
- Thể nghi vấn (Interrogative form): DID + S + USE TO + V (BARE INF)?
Ex: Did you use to work in the post office?
(Có phải trước đây anh đã từng làm việc ở bưu điện không?)
3 Kiến thức nâng cao:
TOBE USED TO + VING+O = GET USED TO + VING+O
dùng để diễn tả việc quen dần với hành động hoặc sự việc nào đó hoặc chỉ thói quen, việc thường xảy ra ở hiện tại.
Ex: He is used to getting up early.( anh ấy quen dần với việc dạy sớm)
I get used to listening to music every evening ( Tôi quen với việc nghe nhạc mỗi tối)
II CONJUNCTIONS( TỪ NỐI)
1.AND: ( và) : dùng để kết nối hai sự vật, sự việc hoặc 2 câu mang ý nghĩa tương đồng.
Ex: I and you are good friend

2 SO ( nên, cho nên): là liên từ thường đứng ở giữa câu, nối mệnh đề chỉ nguyên nhân và
mệnh đề chỉ kết quả
Ex: The food was cold, so he was angry.
3 BUT ( Nhưng) dùng nối hai mệnh đề mang nghĩa đối lập nhau và thường đứng ở đầu
mệnh đề thứ hai
Ex: He is small but he is very strong
4 OR ( hoặc) : diễn tả sự lựa chọn
Ex: You can sing or dance
5 HOWEVER ( tuy nhiên):là một trạng từ, nó có thể đứng ở các vị trí khác nhau trong
câu Trước however, ta dùng dấu chấm câu (.), dấu phấy (,) hoặc dấu chấm phẩy (;).
Ex: They want to eat icecream , however, they don't have any money
6 ATHOUGH/ THOUGH: ( mặc dù) dùng để chỉ sự nhượng bộ kết nối hai mệnh đề.
Ex: Although it rained heavily, he went to school on time
7 BECAUSE ( bởi vì) dùng chỉ nguyên nhâ kết nối hai mệnh đề.
Ex: She stayed at home because she was ill
