- Ask Ss to remark about the use of the tag
– question - Give their ideas.- A tag question has the same auxiliary verb
as in the main clause:
+ Main clause has V be or modal V, tag question has the same
+ Main clause has ordinary V, tag question has aux V” do, does, did”
- Main clause in negative, tag question in positive
- Main clause in positive, tag question in negative
- If we are asking a real question, we use a rising intonation
- If we are sure about the answer, we use a falling intonation
3 Practice (17 minutes)
- Ask Ss to look at the exercise 1 (p 45) and
complete the dialogues with the correct tag
- Call some pairs to practice the completed
dialogues
- Correct the mistakes and give the
feedback
