Phần tiêu đề thư hay còn gọi là tên của bức thư Heading​ Subject line 2. Phần địa chỉ bên trong thư Inside address: (Bao gồm thông tin người viết, ngày tháng, tên và địa chỉ người nhận) 3. Phần thân của bức thư Body: Trình bày rõ ràng, mạch lạc thông tin mà bạn muốn chuyển tới người đọc.​ 4. Phần cuối thư Complimentary close: Thường sử dụng những cụm từ như: Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Yours truly…., kèm theo chữ ký và họ tên đầy đủ của người viết. Lưu ý: Khi dùng Dear Ms.Mrs. + surname ở đầu Email thì sử dụng Yours sincerely. Khi dùng Dear SirMadam ở đầu Email thì sử dụng Yours faithfully.

TYPES OF LETTERS/EMAIL

PURPOSE OF EMAILS/LETTERS

There are different types of letters that are appropriate for a friend or close relative:

• Handwritten letters

• Emailed letters

• Typed social media messages

For business contacts or people you don’t know well, a typed formal letter is almost always the most appropriate choice:

• Cover letters

• Letters of intent

• Value proposition letters

• Business memorandum letters

• Promotion letters

• Reference letters

• Resignation letters

• Thank-you letters

HOW TO WRITE

AN EMAIL/ A LETTER ?

EMAIL/LETTER STRUCTURE

1 Phần tiêu đề thư hay còn gọi là tên của bức thư - Heading / Subject line

2 Phần địa chỉ bên trong thư - Inside address:

(Bao gồm thông tin người viết, ngày tháng, tên và địa chỉ người nhận)

3 Phần thân của bức thư - Body:

Trình bày rõ ràng, mạch lạc thông tin mà bạn muốn chuyển tới người đọc

4 Phần cuối thư - Complimentary close:

Thường sử dụng những cụm từ như:

Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Yours truly…., kèm theo chữ ký và họ tên đầy đủ của người viết

Lưu ý:

Khi dùng Dear Ms./Mrs + surname ở đầu Email thì sử dụng Yours sincerely.

Khi dùng Dear Sir/Madam ở đầu Email thì sử dụng Yours faithfully

2 Đoạn mở đầu bức thư (Starting your letter ):

Bạn có thể sử dụng một trong số các cụm từ sau để bắt đầu bức thư.

 Thanks for your letter (Cảm ơn bạn đã viết thư)

 I'm very happy when I received your letter….

 Lovely to hear from you (Rất vui khi nhận được tin tức từ bạn)

 How are you? (Bạn khỏe không?)

 How are things? (Mọi việc thế nào)

 Hope you're well (fine) (Mình hi vọng bạn khỏe.)

 Thank you very much for your letter which arrived a few days ago / (our class' photo you sent me a few days ago…)

 Thank you for your letter How are you? I hear that you are going to travel with your family next week…

Và nhận xét về một thông tin trong bức thư mà người bạn viết cho bạn.

 I'm sorry to hear/learn Mình rất tiệc khi nghe được/ biết rằng

 I'm so pleased to hear Mình rất vui khi biết rằng

 I’m so pleased to hear that you are getting married next month

 It's great to hear Thật vui khi biết rằng

Đoạn 2: Viết vào nội dung chính bức thư: trả lời các câu hỏi trong đề bài Sử dụng một số các cách chuyển câu như sau:

 Anyway, the reason I'm writing

 I thought I'd write to tell/ask you

 I am writing to tell you about … (the weather in my country…)

I'm very happy when I received your letter I'm writing this letter to tell you about my daily life It seems my life is always very full of activities and obligations so I never have much time for myself During the week I'm very busy On weekdays, I usually have to get up at half past six even though I would really prefer to sleep much later After I get up I perform my morning routine of washing my face, brushing my teeth, etc I usually have breakfast at quarter to seven in the morning After getting dressed, I drive to my office and my workday starts at eight o'clock with plenty of work to deal with Sometimes, it causes my stress but I love my job as a civil engineer I have lunch at 12 o'clock, after that I take a nap in a hour to refresh my mind I continue working until 5pm I get home at 6 o'clock and playing football is my favorite sport after work It helps me healthy and keep fit I have dinner with my parent at 8 o'clock I like watching

TV or reading book after dinner If I go out to meet my friends or have dinner, etc, I will come home by 11 p.m because my parent don't allow me to come home late Checking mail or comments on my Facebook is the last thing I do before going to bed I love my life and really enjoy it!
