Welcome
It gives us great pleasure to welcome you distinguished
guests to The 2nd International Conference on Green
Technology and Sustainable Development 2014
(GTSD'14)
After a successful staging of inaugural GTSD’12 which was
held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and
Education, Vietnam (HCMUTE) in 2012, GTSD'14 is staged
at the HCMUTE again in the beautiful Ho Chi Minh City of
Vietnam This year’s GTSD'14 is organized to foster
cooperation between a wide range of stakeholders of green
and sustainable technologies to facilitate sustainable
developments for the whole world in general and for countries
who are rapidly developing, such as Vietnam, in specific The
to-be-exchanged knowledge can be used directly in real
industrial applications or in education to change people's
point of view on the importance of green solutions The
GTSD'14 brings together international academics,
professionals, researchers, students, employers and policy
makers from around the world to interact with each other
It is expected that GTSD'14 will provide an excellent platform
for discussions on important issues of green and sustainable
technologies The conference is structurally organized in
order to promote active participation of all attendees and
presenters via plenary presentation sessions, keynote
addresses and panel discussions In addition, facilities are
provided for group meetings and one-on-one interaction of
the participants to discuss issues
GTSD'14 is jointly organized by a consortium of universities
composing of the host university, Ho Chi Minh City University
of Technology and Education, Vietnam (HCMUTE); National
Institute of Solar Energy, Ministry of New and Renewable
Energy, Inida, (NISE), National Kaohsiung University of
Applied Sciences, Taiwan (KUAS) and Kun Shan University,
Taiwan (KSU)
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all delegates,
sponsors, supporters, exhibitors, conference speakers,
special guests, session chairs, student volunteers and
reviewers for making GTSD'14 a success We wish you a
pleasant and successful stay in Vietnam and thank you for
being here with us
Trang 4Opening and Welcome
Professor Do Van Dung
President
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology
and Education, Vietnam
Distinguished participants,
On behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City University
of Technology and Education, I am very
pleased to welcome you all here,
distinguished guests, outstanding researchers
and representatives of press and media, to
join in the Second International Conference
on Green Technology and Sustainable
Development 2014 (GTSD’14)
The economy of Vietnam has been well
known to be rapidly developing within the past
decades with a large amount of foreign direct
investment (FDI) Many new industrial zones
have been founded and Vietnam has been
joining in many international societies to
internationalize and reinforce a national
knowledge based economy and industry
Nevertheless, we do emphasize the concerns
on the negative side effects of industrial
development when it is uncontrolled on
environment and other aspects of life And we
would like this development to be a long-term
and sustainable rather than short-term one
Thus, it is just in time for Vietnam to pay more
attention on green technologies for
sustainable development This surely is the
best way for the country to firmly go ahead in
the future The International Conference on
Green Technology and Sustainable
Development series, which has firstly started
since 2012, takes place now in 2014, is a
good event to bring important knowledge of
excellent researchers around the world to
Vietnam Vietnamese researchers also have
a great opportunity to exchange their ideas
with experts from other countries to realize or
ameliorate them for real applications
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology
and Education has employed a lot of energy
and effort to develop our scientific research
abilities in many fields including green and
sustainable technologies Thus, we highly evaluate the meaning of such event The success of this conference in 2012 did bring back to our researchers broader views and ideas for their work As being one of the best technical universities in Vietnam, we are willing to share such meaningful achievement
to other colleagues by conducting repeatedly the conference every two years This time, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Vietnam (HCMUTE) together with National Institute of Solar Energy, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Inida, (NISE), National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, Taiwan (KUAS) and Kun Shan University, Taiwan (KSU), co-organizes GTSD'14 It is strongly believed that the conference will not only be a good scientific event but also an opportunity for friendship formation and collaboration
We would like to thank all participants for their contributions to the Conference program and proceedings Many thanks also go to the organizing committee for their devoted assistance in the overall organization of the Conference
Thank you and have a good time in Vietnam!
President
