A INTRODUCTION:

I Why choose topics:

English has truly become an international language It plays avery important role in the field of social development in general andeducation in particular There are many countries around the world usingEnglish in teaching in schools as well as in daily communication English

is the most important media in many countries around the world For thatreason, access to and understanding English is very urgent in thisinformation era

Today, learning English is a necessity to help students more effectivelyreach with a rich source of knowledge in the world In any languagevocabulary also plays an important role because it conveys the content

we want to say Knowing many words helps us to communicate moreeasily Besides creating a learning environment both lively andinteresting play an important role in teaching and learning in schools.This is the media environment and also the purpose of the teachingprocess in general

In the process of teaching English 5 at Primary school, I've had anumber of forms to help you practice and test their vocabulary in order togenerate interest in students for learning and help them increase Englishvocabulary

Learning English , the aim is to have students be able to use thatlanguage when necessary For students in grades 5 to say or write acomplete sentence in English on demand is not a simple thing If youwant to be good English, they must have a certain vocabulary Theimportant thing is how to help students remember and use words thatthey have learned

During the classroom training activities, practice and test theirvocabulary is a very important part of a lesson How to do so to test astudent's vocabulary effectively? We can not not continue to applyflexible, innovative teaching methods in each class positive, in eachunit in which the language testing of students associated with theorganization of the game is a form of active teaching

Is the primary English teachers, through practical teaching 5thgrade for many years, I was thinking and innovative research, trying tohelp students memorize vocabulary is further from the inspection form,practicing vocabulary, identify the importance of checking vocabulary So

Stemming from the reality of teaching English in primary schools today,especially the status of students do not remember the words I researched thissubject to help students remembere and memorize vocabulary right in class.Help students interest in learning the discipline and love more English subjects.Thereby contributing to improve the quality of teaching and learning in schools,especially the quality of teaching and learning English today

Teach 5th graders exposed to many forms of exercise and testtheir vocabulary in English under the new textbook program

IV Research Methods:

In 5th grade textbooks are so many video channels help teachersand students to facilitate the grasp of language Teaching new textbookscan promote skills evenly But it is difficult for students to remember allthe words, there are many new lessons from too much volume anddifficult to make both teachers and students are not guaranteed to be allknowledge in a lesson Especially if they learn from textbooks to speakand write English during school hours will be limited so much by some ofyou have not read and write the English vocabulary learned

The tutorial, hints teachers work very generic, boring, difficult to apply to teachers teaching.

II Status of the research problem.

1 Situation :

Most children in the country from urban to rural areas, the majority areacquainted with English from an early goal through teaching in schools.Four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing are taking placesimultaneously in the process of teaching and learning foreignlanguages For grade 5 students have acquainted with the Englishprogram for 3 years but many of them are limited in how to communicatebecause they do not remember the words so they are shy and nervous

- With the attention and support of the school administration team, professional groups and colleagues

- Students get acquainted with information technology, they soon be exposed to computers, the internet and received more information from here

* Difficult :

- English is a new and difficult subject for elementary school students .Moreover for rural students all conditions and close contact surrounding realityare limited As the school has many students outside the commune, their dialect

is limited to the correct pronunciation of words learned

- A large part of the students are not paying attention and investment in a foreignlanguage, preparing sparingly In the class, some children are often passive, lack

of flexibility, afraid to read - speak English and less involved told to learnlessons

Therefore requires teachers to have good teaching methods, creativeinitiative, always improve training methods in many different forms, differenttypes suitable exercises for each lesson content to inspire interesting andmotivating all students practicing enthusiastically

In the course of the current English teaching, teachers have used thenew method to be effective in these lessons, many teachers have used manymethods and innovation in the process of the unit However in order to achievemore effective teaching requires the teachers to use the appropriate form withthe student audience

Reality Grade 5at ThiTran Primary School :

- Students are not interested in learning new words: they are afraid ofremembering many new words in each lesson Many children just to deal withthese checks

- Students also use more Vietnamese: In the majority of lessons they say, justknow that Vietnamese but at least they know how to apply from there In thelesson, students use more Vietnamese to discuss or explain the issues related tothe lesson

- Students often forget vocabulary: Many students often forget vocabulary whatteacher introduced, after a while if not practice the word, and to meet the otherwords in an article, they do not understand to solve the situation in the lessonslearned lead to efficiency is not high

- Students often confuse: Many words have difficult form or pronoun, similar words can cause confusion or retention is not high

Therefore, exercise and checking regularly vocabulary is essential

For 5th graders had difficulty to remember new words in all multi-word,followed in the teaching process, through practical teaching the years, I realizedthat the old method of teaching and learning vocabulary usually takes the style:teachers read and list the words had never appeared in the teaching processcalled new words then teachers write all that new words on the blackboard,explaining by Vietnamese and means for them to read several times Getting thechildren memorize new words to check in later lessons Thus making themboring and pressure If instructed by this method which is only 15-20% of thestudents understand new words, the rest students remember mechanically andforget quickly Investigate the situation in grade 5 at Thi Tran Nga Son PrimarySchool:

III Solutions and implementation.

Vocabulary is one of the most important part of learning a foreignlanguage, if you want to be good at English, even in any other skill: listening,speaking, reading, writing, we need vocabulary as much as possible Now withthe modern equipment we can apply creativity to make many interesting ways toteach vocabulary, effective and attractive, creating a colorful diverse playground

Through the process of teaching me provide some method topractice and test their vocabulary in English that I found effective:

1 To overcome status students are not interested in learning new words:

Previously, the majority of teachers according to traditional methodsthat the teacher take notes and students do homework Then the teacher tocorrect, if students make mistakes, the teacher always been proactive in class,and all students only listen and do all is enough Thus, the teacher will be verytired, but the students are passive and do not have access to them difficult topractice the vocabulary memory So they are afraid to learn and speak Englishalways lead to heavy periods As a language teacher, I always have concerns

how students learn and not afraid to become increasingly more interested inlearning English.

To teach English for Primary students effectively and to help studentsinterested in lesson are not easy, so depending on the characteristics of eachclass, each object, content and capacity knowledge of each lesson, teachers canpractice vocabulary at different times, at different stages of each article, themain teaching hours or extracurricular courses, organized manner to teacherschoose the form of exercise and test accordingly For students more interested inlearning new words I have combined the following forms:

1.1 Complete the crossword as suggested :

Each different letters forms words, words are illustrated with examples linked toreal life will help them remember the words longer

When find out the opinion of many students that how to learn newwords, most of them think that only know these word in Vietnamese but littlethey know how to apply them In the lesson, students use more Vietnamese todiscuss or explain the issues related to the lesson To help children become moreconfident in using more English in class I have incorporated some forms of self-confidence to help them use English in class as much as possible

2.1 Find words learned by definition:

For each vocabulary teacher can explain in simple English words and that is tofind a new definition for the words

For example, when teaching Unit 3 A birthday party (English 5)

- After the introduction of the new words and some common words related tothe lesson to students, the teacher gives students the definition of that word andask students to find the word This way teacher can test what students havelearned

- Specific:

+ If you want to test word birthday, teacher suggests: This word has 8

letters The day someone was born or the anniversary of that day.

+ If you want to test word present, teacher suggests: This word has 7 letters.

Something that you give to someone especially as a way of showing affection or thanks.

+ If you want to check word dictionary, teacher hints: This word has 10 letters.

A reference book that contains words listed in alphabetical order and that gives information about the words’ meanings.

+ If you want to check word paint brush, teachers suggest : This word has 10

letters A brush used for putting paint on a surface.

+ If you want to check word comic book, teachers suggests: This word has 9

letters A magazine that is made up of a series of comic strips - often used as comic-book before another noun.

+ If you want to check word jigsaw puzzle, teacher suggests: This word has 12

letters A puzzle made of many small pieces that are cut into various shapes and can be fit together to form a picture.

+ If you want to check word clock, teacher suggests: This word has 5 letters A

device that shows what time it is and that is usually placed in a room or attached to a wall

This form is to help students develop reading comprehension skills, helpstudents relate to a lot of words to learn and use English to explain some simplewords

2.2 Find the appropriate side

The form of this test to help students learn more about the nature of the meaning of words to help them understand and remember longer

Teachers prepare some cardboard, a numbered face, a face that says studentswant to practice, then paste the cover sheet on the board, divide the class intotwo groups, in turn ask each group to select two plates, flip two studentsselected cover sheet if the match will be scored if not match capsized backtogether and continue the game
