I The prejudice of social about

LGBT people in the past

- Gays like to wear women’s clothes and

lesbians like to wear men’s clothes

 The truth:

- It's just curiosity or personality style

- Most homosexuals are not interested in sex reassignment surgery

- Homosexuality is a trend.

 Homosexuality is not a disease so it cannot be spread and cannot develop into a trend

- The state media had declared homosexuality a social evil.

From 2012, the outlook about LGBT people

has changed a lot.

Clause 2, Article 8 of the Law

of Marriage and Family, 2014:

weddings, but couples are

neither recognized nor protected under the law

In general, in Vietnam, the attitude of society towards

homosexuality is discrimination at different levels or it does not show a clear attitude such as ignoring and not caring.

ISEE Research on homosexual stigma in Vietnam shows that:

- 1.5% said they were expelled when found to be gay.

- 4.1% had discrimination against housing issues.

- 4.5% said they had been attacked and beaten because they were gay.

- 15.1% said they were scolded by their families for being gay

- Many people consider homosexuality

to be abnormal or even sick, especially

in the countryside The cuddly

behavior of two people of the same

sex can make many people feel

disgusted.

The Vietnamese government has officially legalized the right to change gender in November 2015.
