① When driver sets the ignition key

to the “START” position,

② When no magnetic operating sound

is heard from start motor,

a magnetic operating sound should be heard.

connect the magnetic switch terminal B and terminal S directly by wiring.

③ If start motor is working, check the

power to the terminal S

If there is no power,

④ If there is no magnetic operating

sound even though terminal B and

terminal S are directly connected,

Check the wiring

among the battery, the fusible link,

between the ignition switch and start

motor terminal S.

repair the start magnetic switch or ground.

⑤ If the magnetic operating sound is

heard from the start motor, but the

start motor doesn’t work, connect the jump wire directly between the

battery terminal and start the motor terminal M

⑥ When the start motor runs,

⑦ If the start motor doesn’t work,

repair the battery terminal contact or magnetic switch

② If the power is supplied, the rotor core becomes

a magnet So, it can be checked by screwdriver

or iron string If the rotor core doesn’t become a magnet,

it means alternator problems

Engine running condition

① Check that charging current is supplied to the battery from alternator B terminal while the engine is running

② Check the voltage at the alternator B terminal The voltage at the engine stop condition should be lower than at the engine running condition If the voltage is always the same, it means alternator problem.

< Output Side >

When a input side problem or alternator occurs, the

charging warning lamp turns on.

But in case of output side problem, the charging warning

lamp doesn’t come on

After starting engine, check if

the warning lamp turns off.

Check the battery.

Go to step 4

No Measure the battery voltage.

Standard : Above 24V

Inspect the bulb of the warning lamp.

Check the wiring between L terminal and the warning lamp.

1 Connect an ammeter (min.100A)

between B terminal and wiring.

2 Turn off all electric load

after starting engine.

3 Keep the engine speed to

2500 ~3000 rpm.

4 Check if the output current

increases when turning

electric load on.

Check if the deflection of

drive belt is normal.
