ABSTRACT
Volleyball is gradually becoming the sport that many students are interested
in and choose to join in daily practice However, in the process of learning and work out, most students make basic errors when performing technical tasks This article aims to identify, select and build some supplementary exercises in order to correct the common errors of students in the process of implementing the cushion technique of low ball with both hands
1 INTRODUCTION
Like other sports such as Football, Athletics,
Basketball, Badminton, or King Chess,
volleyball is the sport that most people like and
participate in training Participants in
Volleyball are very different from teenagers,
middle aged people or the elderly
Activities in volleyball is a combination of
basic movement techniques such as passing,
cushioning, smashing, kicking and blocking in
which the technique of low cushioning with two
hands is one of the basic and important
techniques in volleyball
Due to the practice of teaching elective sports
for non-major students at Tien Giang
University, we realize that most students still
make many mistakes while performing this
movement technique Therefore, we study the
topic: "Studying and selecting some
supplementary exercises to improve technique
of cushioning the ball with two hands for
non-major students of Tien Giang University"
2 SUBJECTS AND METHODS OF THE STUDY
2.1 Research subjects
The research subject is some additional exercises to improve the cushion technique with two hands for non-major students of Tien Giang University
2.2 Research object

Through the interview results on choosing a
number of exercises to overcome the common
errors of students when performing the
technique of cushioning low ball with two
hands, the complementary exercises have been
developed and selected equally The majority of
the respondents choose with over 80% of the
respondents agree At the same time, the
comments said that in order to improve the
quality of two-hand cushioning technique for
two-hand under-balls by non-major students at
Tien Giang University, it is necessary to apply
all exercises simultaneously in teaching
practices at the school Based on that, the topic
has selected and built 04 supplementary
exercises to overcome some common errors of
students when performing low-cushion
technique with two basic hands, specific
content is presented in section 3.2 of the thesis
3.2 Selecting some additional exercises to
improve the technique of low-ball
cushion with two hands for students of
Tien Giang University
3.2.1 Supplementary exercises to fix error 1 of students
Exercise 1: Move 4 directions to catch the ball
Purpose: To help students actively identify the dropping point of the ball
Requirements: Students actively identify the
dropping point of the ball
Method: Divide the class into 02 groups, stand
on 02 sides of the net, each student moves 4 directions to catch the ball, 01 server throws the ball in 04 directions forcing students to observe and proactively move for catching the ball
3.2.2 Supplementary exercises to overcome error 2 and 3 of the students
Exercise 2: Cushioning the ball to the wall or
by tossing the ball
Purpose: To help students consolidate and
perfect the ball cushion technique
How to do it: Divide the class into small
groups of 3-5 students, standing opposite the wall (or 02 students standing opposite each
Trang 4other) with about 2 m, taking it continuously for
02 minutes
3.2.3 Supplementary exercises to overcome
error 4 of students
Exercise 3: Self ball to cushion
Purpose: To help students a sense of space
with the ball
Requirements: Perform continuously, toss the
ball at a moderate height, follow the learned
technique
Implementation time: Performing in 02
minutes, repeating 3-5 times
3.2.4 Supplementary exercises to overcome
error 5 of students
Exercise 4: Blocking the ball
Purpose: to increase the difficulty for the
cushion, to enhance the feeling of contact and
improve the technique at a higher level
How to do: Divide the class into small groups
standing opposite each other, with about 2m, one performs the knocking motion, another performs the technique of knocking the ball, perform continuously for 02 minutes, repeat from 3 -5 times
supplementary exercises to overcome some errors when performing low-handed cushion technique with two hands of Tien Giang University students
3.3.1 Assessing the results of the two-hand buffer technique test by two hands of the control and experimental groups
To be able to objectively assess the initial level
of the target groups of researchers before going into the experiment, the subject conducted a cushion of low ball with two hands for all students of the two groups the results are presented in Tables 3 and 4
Table 3 Chi-Squared Test results of 2 groups of female students before the experiment
Value df Asymp Sig (2-sided)
Linear-by-Linear Association 0.000 1 1.000
a 2 cells (33.3%) have expected count less than 5 The minimum expected count is 1.50
Table 4 Chi –Squared Test results of 2 male groups of students before experiments
Value df Asymp Sig (2-sided)
Linear-by-Linear Association 0.000 1 1.000
a 2 cells (33.3%) have expected count less than 5 The minimum expected count is 1.50
Trang 5Through the results of Chi square test of 02
groups of male and female students before
experiment, respectively 0.525 and 0.582 <Chi
squared table is 5.99 with degrees of freedom df
= 2 [1] Thus, Chi squared calculation <Chi
square table so the pre-experimental level of the
two groups is evenly different, or in other
words the initial level of the two groups is
similar
3.3.2 Assess the test results of the low-handed
cushion technique with two hands of
students after the experiment
After developing and selecting supplementary exercises to overcome some common errors of students when performing low-ball cushion technique with two hands, the topic applied these exercises on the experimental group
After 01 month, the subject has evaluated the effectiveness after applying the additional exercises of experimental and control groups
The results are presented in Table 5 and Table
6
Table 5 Chi – Square Test results of 02 groups of female students after experiment
Value df Asymp Sig (2-sided) Pearson Chi-Square 6.619a 2 0.037
Linear-by-Linear Association 6.420 1 0.011
a 2 cells (33.3%) have expected count less than 5 The minimum expected count is 3.50
Table 6 Chi – Square Test results of 02 groups of male students after experiment
Value df Asymp Sig (2-sided) Pearson Chi-Square 6.604a 2 0.037
Linear-by-Linear Association 6.410 1 0.011
a 2 cells (33.3%) have expected count less than 5 The minimum expected count is 3.50
From the results of Chi squared test between 2
groups of male and female students after
experiment is respectively 6,604 and 6,619>
Chi square table is 5.99 with degrees of
freedom df = 2 [1] So, the level between the
two groups is different In other words, the
results above confirm that the supplementary
exercises that the project selected for the
experimental group have shown effectiveness
compared to the case-control group
4 CONCLUSION
1 Through pedagogical observation, the project has identified 5/8 errors that many students make when performing the technique of using low-handed ball with two basic hands, specifically:
- Error 1 Error when moving the ball
- Error 2 Error of preparing posture
- Error 3 Error of putting hands apart
- Error 4 Error of coordination between parts
of the body
- Error 5 Error of wrist contact
Trang 62 Based on that, the thesis has selected and
built 04 supplementary exercises
corresponding to 05 common mistakes of
students to overcome and improve the
technique of low-ball cushion with two
hands
- Exercise 1: Move 4 directions to catch the
ball
- Exercise 2: Cushion the ball into the wall or
hit the ball
- Exercise 3: Self throwing ball to buffer
- Exercise 4: Help knock the ball
3 After applying these supplementary
exercises to the experiments, the results of
the study confirmed that the effectiveness of
these supplementary exercises have
contributed to overcome the common
mistakes of students when performing the
technique of low-ball cushion with two
hands for non-major students in Physical Education at Tien Giang University
