Abstract
In recent years, the comprehensive cooperation, especially trade and economic relations between Vietnam and China have been constantly developing, the demand for human resources with Chinese language competency at enterprises in Vietnam has increased continuously Therefore, the training of human resources with the ability of Business Chinese language has become the new hot spot in the field of teaching Chinese language The Businese Chinese language training has just started in Vietnam, so further research is needed both theoretically and practically and it should describe the target situations in commercial activities, especially the increasingly complex commercial environment of Vietnam Therefore, we chose the topic “Study on the demand for Businese Chinese language ability
of enterprises in Vietnam”, using he “target needs” of Hutchinson and Waters (1987) as the starting point, using the
“target situation needs analysis” theory and Munby’s method (1978) as a basis, using enterprises and Chinese talents that need to use Chinese for production and business activities in Viet Nam as research objects, using information from website recruitment information and questionnaires, using different research methods to conduct comprehensive analysis of specific information, for discussing the demand for human resources with Chinese language ability and specific language skills requirements of various types of enterprises in Vietnam It is hoped that the research gap in this area will be filled to a certain extent, which can provide some reference for Vietnam business Chinese teaching The dissertation consists of six chapters: in addition to the title of the dissertation, the remaining contents include: research design, recruiting information on the need for Businese Chinese language in Vietnam, survey of demand of Chinese language proficiency of employees in enterprises of Vietnam, analysis in Chinese language proficiency which Vietnam requires human resources to have, and recommendations and inspirations
The analysis work of this article focuses on chapter three and four The third chapter gathering recruiting information for positions required of Chinese ability of 483 Vietnamese enterprises posted on Mywork recruitmen website in 2016 After analyzing recruitment information, showed the main characteristics of the demand for Business Chinese language in Vietnam
The fourth chapter Use content and basic parameters in Munby’s Communicative needs processor as a basis, make questionnaires for employees who have been using Chinese in their work at enterprises in Vietnam The information collected from the 86 valid questionnaires collected showed the basic situation of using Chinese in the work of employees The fifth chapter analyzes the Chinese language ability of employees needed by enterprises in Vietnam This chapter carried out the discussion on the demand for Chinese language competency in the areas of operations in Vietnam, from the frequent use of Chinese language to point out the communication behaviors and communication functions in order to discuss the systems of commercial Chinese language competency that enterprises
in Vietnam need, based on the international Chinese language Proficiency standard and the Business Chinese language ability standard The sixth chapter reflect on relevant issues, including: Rethinking business Chinese teaching in Vietnam, the theory of goal-scenario analysis, thinking about the country – specific needs of business Chinese, and finally putting forward some suggestions
Under the new situation, there are enterprises with demand for Chinese language throughout Vietnam Most of them are medium-sized and small-sized enterprises, but their type is not limited but foreign – funded enterprises take the lead Vietnam is fully open to all industries Therefore, enterprises that need Chinese language are not limited to
Trang 7commercial trade, but have expanded to various business fields such as manufacturing, clothing, electronics, and other industries, construction engineering, transportation, warehousing, and tourism In terms of demand, the number of Chinese language required for production and manufacturing has exceeded the original commercial trade and has become a new focus for the needs of Chinese language in Vietnam In terms of positions, it has a tendency to diversify,
in which the demand for each category is different in each area
The use of Chinese language in Vietnam shows its use in work practices In the event that companies in Vietnam need to use Chinese to communicate, events that belong to the company are obviously more than the outside of the company in terms of quantity or frequency, that is, “management activities” are the main events, oral communication takes precedence Due to the characteristics of the work environment, Chinese users who hold any positions may be responsible for translators and interpreters at any time
This paper further explores the characteristics of demand for Chinese language ability in various fields in Vietnam Then, discussing the business Chinese language ability system required by enterprises in Vietnam, including Chinese language skills (all skills need to meet the “ Grade 5 level of business Chinese competency standards”), and related professional skills (ie, business-related basic knowledge and skills), language communication skills and cross- cultural communication skills
The analysis results or target situation were used as a basis to reflect on related issues, including :1 Look back
on the teaching of Businese Chinese language, which was found that the current training did not meet the social requirements in terms of both quantity and quality as due to the incomplete curriculum design and the lack of systematic and scientific teaching materials, there is no theoretical guidance for the preparation and selection of teaching materials, and the teaching content is lacking in targetedness 2 Look back at the reasoning and methodology of the target situation analysis and point out the shortcomings of Munby’s communicative needs processor when applied to Chinese, and give recommendations for modifications 3 Discuss differences in Chinese language demand across countries, pointing to the deeper the degree of internationalization of China’s economy, the higher the international demand for business Chinese Due to the different scope of cooperation with China and the difference in business background, the needs of different coutries is expressed in particular by the width and depth of demand In addition, no matter from which country the business Chinese talents have to meet “great requirements”, that is, the common requirements of all coutries for business Chinese competency “small requirements” are the requirements for the nationalization of business Chinese, that is, there are differences in the requirements for business Chinese language competency according to different countries’backgrounds and business backgrounds 4 Analysis of commercial Chinese language teaching in both theoretical and practical studies, make recommendations for the teaching of commercial Chinese language and the structure of the investigation and content analysis of the target situation in Businese Chinese language in Vietnam, Hopefully, the results of this study are valid for effective application in teaching and studying Businese Chinese language in Vietnam
