GRADE 5 WEEK 1

Teaching date: 27/8/2018

CLASSROOM LANGUAGE

I Objectives:

- By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to be familiar with some simple classroom language

- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: board, lesson plan, computer

2 Students’: books, notebooks

III Procedure:

1 Greeting

2 Sing the song

Work 1:

- Introduce the song May I come in?

- Have Ss listen to the song

- Have Ss listen and repeat the lyrics of the song

- Get Ss to work in groups and practice sing the song

3 Play game “Simon says ”

Work 1:

- Listen to the introduction of the game: T/ one Ss will be controller who give instructions begining with “Simon says ” and Ss have to follow If T doesn’t says “Simon says ”, Ss don’t follow that instructions Who doesn’t follow correctly will be taken a kindly punishment

Work 2:

- Play the game: T tries to give many common instructions and repeat them to help Ss remember

- Call one Ss to be a controller and continue the game

RULES AND SIGNS IN CLASS

I Objectives:

- By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to design rules in class and introduce some signs used in the English class

- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: board, lesson plan, computer

2 Students’: books, notebooks

III Procedure:

1 Greeting - 3ms

2 Design rules in class

Work 1:

- listen to the guide of the T

- group leaders control Ss to design the rules in class

Work 2

- share in class

- listen, discuss and choose the suitable rules

3 Signs and symbols

Work 1:

- Listen to the T introduce some signs and symbols used in class: W1, W2, WG, B23, Z,

- play game: T/ one Ss will be controller who give instructions begining with “Simon writes ” and Ss have to follow Who doesn’t follow correctly will be taken a kindly punishment Example:

“B15”

III Procedure:

1 Warm up:

- Play game Simon says

2 Review ordinal numbers

Work 1:

- remember the ordinal numbers

- call ordinal numbers

- write and learn them by heart

3 Work in pairs/ groups

Work 1:

- Listen to the T guide how to work in pairs/ groups

- follow the instructions of the T and practice working in pairs or groups Example: Read the dialogue

on page 6 in pairs / Sing the song in groups

- Review the symbols and follow the instructions

III Procedure:

1 Warm up:

- Play game Simon says

2 Review numbers

Work 1:

- remind number from 20-100 they learned

- listen and repeat after T

- play game: look and say the number

3 Review daily routines

- The group leaders control Ss remind the daily activities they learned

- play game: point and say aloud them the in groups

- Have Ss review some instructions that have just learned

- Sum up and ask Ss to practice at home

GREETING

I Objectives:

By the end of the unit, Ps can:

- Revise the greeting sentences and introduce about themselve

II Teaching aids:

CD, Laptop, Projector, Pictures

III Teaching processes:

Warm-up : 5'

- Get Ps sing a song “The alphabet song”

Activity 1: Play a game : Pass the ball 10'

- T gives instructions.( When you say ‘the ball is changing' the student who has the ball must pass

it to the next student with music When music stop, Ss who has the ball stand up and introduce about her/ himself The ball is going to take on different characteristics as it goes around the circle.)

- T controls and corrects the pronunciation

Activity 2: Build the dialouge 10'

- T writes down the dialouge on the board

Tom : Hello I’m Tom

John : Hi Tom I’m John Nice to meet you.

Tom Nice to meet you too Where are you from ?

John : I’m from London.

- T reads model Ss listen and repeat

- T rubs out each word until all the words are gradually erased

- T asks Ss to work in pairs and practise the dialouge

- T monitors and corrects the pronunciation

Team 1 = X , Team 2 = 0

( If a team makes a sentence correctly, they get X/0 If a team answers wrongly, the question is passed on to the next team.At the end, who makes in line first is winner.)

- Comprehend the classroom council and make groups

Laptop, CD, Projector, Cards

III Teaching processes:

Warm-up : 5'

Play a game : My favourite colour

Do you like …… ? (red/ pink/yellow)

Activity 1: Devide the groups 10'

T gives Ss the pieces of colours Each S takes a piece of one colour that she/he likes The Ss who have the same colour are in one groups

Activity 1: Make the questions 10'

1 My name is Peter.

2 I’m night years old.

3 It’s red.

4 She is my sister.

5 Today is sunny.

- T asks Ss to work individually and make the questions into their notebook

- T monitors and controls

- T collects some results and corrects

Activity 2: Play game : Netword 10'

- Ss play the game in groups

- Ss write down in the posters colours

- If the group has more words correctly is winner

- T asks Ss to work in pairs, ask and answer :What colour is this ? – It’s

- T monitors and corrects the pronuciation

Activity 3: Reorder the words to make the sentences: 10'
