Structural model = inner composition of human psychology

Functional model = ways of conduct, actions and reactions

Status Parents-I => a person thinks, acts and feels as his parents do

Status Adults-I => a person makes sober estimations of the reality, collects and comprehends facts objectively

Status Child-I => a person feels and acts as in childhood

Automatically evaluating;

Characteristic Features of Behavior:

Kind, encouraging, grateful;

Considerate, sympathizing, consoling;

Protective, supporting, advising, helpful;

Understanding, patronizing;

Liberated, objective, emotionless;

Attentive, interested, concentrated;

Listening to an interlocutor;

Putting forward and choosing alternatives;

Spontaneous, impatient, full of energy;

Inquisitive, creative, inventive;

Cautious, conserved, thinking about consequences;

Feeling shame, fault, demanding much of oneself;

Rebellious Child-I

Characteristic Features of Behavior:

Protest against stronger and more authoritative people;

Naughty, self-willing, disobedient;

Rough, unpleasant, angry, aggressive;

Contradicting other people;

To determine the ego-status you need:

To observe a partner’s intonation, behavior, face expression, gesture, body position

Practical Advice

There is neither bad nor good ego-status To make

communication successful you should master each of them.

Check if you are able to recognize and deal with each ego-status in conflict situations

Find out which ego-status you prefer in a conflict situation Think of possible alternatives.

Try practicing a more constructive desirable ego-status

Practical Advice

Avoid super-critical status parents-I It is destructive and useless for efficient communication.

If you are in the rebellious child-I status, analyze what

business counter arguments you have or why not agree with the situation

Think of the ego-status which can best help you eliminate the conflict and develop the effective strategy.

Remember:

You cannot experiment with two strategies

simultaneously.
