- Have pupils look at the four pictures and discuss the context in which the

language is used Ask questions such as Who are they?Where are they? What are

they talking about?

- Check comprehension

- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen andrepeat Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking

- Play the recording again so the class can listen and repeat

Activity 2: Point and say 15'

Model sentence:

Form What is the date today?

It is the first of October.

- Tell pupils that they are going to practise asking and answering questionsabout dates, using that sentence

- Have them look at the bubbles to see how the question and the answer areused Do choral and individual repetition and then ask them to

practise in pairs

- Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the pictures

- one point to the calendar and ask question, the other looks

at the calendar and answer

Activity 3: Listen and tick 10'

- Tell pupils that they are going to listen and tick the correct boxes

- Ask them to look at the pictures to identify the time

- Have they say the times aloud Check understanding

- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, for pupils to listen and tickthe correct pictures

- Play the recording again for pupils to check their answers

- Get pupils to swap their answers before you check as a class

Activity 4: Look and write 15'

- Tel pupils that they are going to fill the gaps of the

sentences with diffirent dates suggested in the pictures

- Give them a few seconds to look at the clock and the answer in 1 Then havethem look at the other clocks and use the appropriate words to complete theanswers Check comprehension

- Give pupils time to do the task independently Go around and offer help, ifnecessary.

Write the correct answers on the board for Ss to copy down their notebooks

- Tell pupils that they are going to sing the song What’s the date today? Teach

the song, following the procedure In Teaching the unit components in Introduction

Tell Ps that they are going to practice asking and answering questions aboutsomeone’s birthday

Asks Ss to look at the pictures and focus on the months and the circled dates,

teach the months of the year Check comprehension.

Point to each picture and asks Ss to say the dates

Point to the first picture and elicit the word to fill the gap

Put the question and answer on the board and have Ps repeat them a fewtimes

Do choral and individual repetition, using the pictures in the book

Get Ps to work in pairs

Calls a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class.Check as a classand pronunciation, if any

Activity 3 Let’s talk

Tell pupils that they are going to revise what they have learnt in Lessons 1 and

2 in real contexts.Remind Ss of the questions What is the date today? And When’syour birthday? And how to respond to them

Asks them to work in pairs and ask and answer the above two questions

Go around to offer help and correct the pronunciation, if necessary

Call a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class

Tell Ps that they are going to listen and number the pictures Give a fewseconds for Ps to look at the pictures Check comprehension and give feedback.Play the recording three times for Ps to listen, do the task and check theiranswers
