Unit 9- The body Lesson 1- Parts of the body: A1,2

I Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk about parts of the body

* Teaching aids:

Student’s and teacher’s books, tape, cassette, pictures

II Procedure:

1 Warm up: Hangman

Ss work in two groups to guess the word : THE BODY

The one that can guess the correct word wins the game

Today we are going to learn the names of some parts of the body Let’s begin Unit 9 -

2 Presentation:

a Pre- teach: New words

T uses the picture or a student to teach the vocabulary: Ss listen and repeat

1 his head : ®Çu 2 chest: ngùc

3 ‘shoulders: vai 4 arm(s): c¸nh tay

5 hand(s): bµn tay 6 leg(s): ch©n

7 foot (feet): bµn ch©n 8 finger(s): ngãn tay

9 toe(s): ngãn ch©n

* Checking: Rub out and remember

3 Practice:

* Ex1: Ss do “ Simon says”

* Ex 3: Guessing game

1 It’s on the top of your body What’s this? – Head

2 They are at the end of your legs What are they? – feet

3 It’s between your arms? What’s this? – Chest

4 They are on your hands What are they? – Fingers

5 They are on your feet What are they? – Toes

II Procedure:

1 Warm up: word square

Ss work in two groups to find the words

The one that can find the more correct words wins the game

Or: Slap the board:

Head, chest, shoulders, arm, hand, leg, foot, finger, toe

Then Ss look at the photos and give the idea about their body: tall, fat …

Today you are going to learn how to describe physical appearance Let’s continue Unit 9 …

2 Presentation

a Pre teach: New words ( Using the pictures on p 97 )

6 weightlifter (n): vận động viên cử tạ

Ss listen to the tape the first time to check the vocabularies Ss listen the second time and repeat with opening the textbook and looking A3 ( p 97 )

Ss work in two groups to guess the word: FACE

The one that can guess the correct word wins the game

Or: Pelmanism: fat tall heavy big noisy thin short light small quiet

2 Presentation
