Some baby animals are look-alikes They are

just like their parents, but smaller Other babies

don’t look like their parents until they grow up

A tadpole looks like a fish, but it’s not It

swims all the time It lives in the water

Is it a look-alike?

A tadpole is not a look-alike It will lose

its tail and grow legs It will grow up to be a frog

Then it will live on land A frog is an amphibian

Do you know what this baby animal is? It is a

mammal Its stripes are another clue

A baby zebra does look like its parents

It is born with long legs It learns to run right

away A baby zebra has to be able to run with

others to stay safe

This baby bird has just hatched The little

bird is clumsy It cannot move its long legs

very well

s little bird is a flamingo It doesn’t

look much like its parents yet But its parents know

the baby belongs to them In a few years, it will

turn pink
