Checking the Status of omud Process
Log in to the OMU by PuTTY.
Run the /etc/rc.d/omud status command.
The returned information is running, it means the omud is working normally.
The returned information is unused, run the /etc/rc.d/omud start command to start the
omud
The returned information is neither running nor unused, reinstall the OMU application in the
active workspace
Trang 29Installing OMU Applications by Using a USB Storage Device
A USB storage device is used in the following three scenarios:
Initially installing the OMU operating system and applications.
Restoring the corrupted OMU operating system.
Procedure:
Prepare a USB storage device which have already install the data.
Insert the USB storage device into any of the USB ports on the OMU board panel.
Remove and then install the OMU board to reset the OMU.
Trang 30Copyright © 2014 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd All rights reserved Page32
Wait 1 to 2 minutes and then use the USB storage device to install the OMU operating system Check the status of indicators on the OMU board panel to determine whether the OMU operating system is installed successfully
If only the operating system is to be installed on the OMU, check the indicator status as follow:

Verify commissioning network status
At least one BTS and one NodeB are connected to the local BSC6910 The BTS and the NodeB should have passed commissioning and can provide basic functions
At least one set of Core Network (CN) equipment is connected to the local BSC6910 The
CN equipment should have passed the commissioning and can provide basic functions
If the BSC6910 is connected to the MBSC, then that MBSC must have passed the
commissioning
Three single-mode UEs, three single-mode MSs and one dual-mode UE are ready for test and are registered in the HLR

Changing the External IP Address
Run the cd /mbsc/bam/version_a/bin/bam command to switch to the directory where the
omutool program locates
Run the /omutool command to start omutool.
Run the /omutool extercard The external fixed IP address The subnet mask (The gateway IP
address) command to change the external fixed IP address and the subnet mask
/omutool extercard 10.161.10.100 255.255.255.0 10.161.10.1

Setting the Work Mode of the OMU
Set the work mode of the OMU according to the number of OMU boards that are
configured
If only one OMU board is configured, run the /omutool dualmode single command to set the
work mode to the single-server mode
If two OMU boards (active and standby OMU boards) are configured, run the /omutool
dualmode dual command to set the work mode to the dual-server mode.
