A Recognizing Word Families

Unlike word roots, base words can stand alone as words But they can also take prefixes or

suffixes to form other words For example, by adding the prefix dis-, you can change the base word trust into the word distrust Some other common prefixes are un-, pre-, re-, de-, and in-.
