I.The present simple tense (Thì hiện tại đơn)

Note :

- Diễn tả một thói quen : often, usually, sometimes, always, seldom, every

Ex : I usually go to school everyday

She always does her homework after meal

- Diễn tả một sự thật, một việc lúc nào cũng đúng

Ex : The Earth moves around the sun

The Sun rises in the East

II The past simple.(Thì quá khứ đơn)

Note :

- Diễn tả một hành động xảy ra vào một thời gian xác định trong quá khứ (Yesterday, last week, the day before, … ) và không còn liên quan đến hiện tại

Ex : She went to HCM city last week

Last night I watched TV Mai did her homework yesterday

III The present perfect (Thì hiện tại hoàn thành)

Note :

- Thì HTHT diễn tả một hành động bắt đầu trong quá khứ , còn tiếp tục ở hiện tại và vẫn chưa hoàn thành ơ hiện tại Thì này thường dễ được nhận thấy qua cách dùng của các trạng từ chỉ khoảng thời gian “for” và “since”

Ex: We’ve learned English for 5 years

She has been Hue since 1989

- Thì HTHT diễn tả một hành động vừa mới xảy ra và thường có các trạng từ sau đây đi kèm ( just, already , recently, ever, never)

He has just finished his homework
