Yarn

 Blue, Black, and Soft White Red Heart Super Saver yarn

 A little bit Cherry Red and Bright Yellow Red Heart Super Saver yarn

3.5 mm crochet hook

Yarn needle

Stuffing (fiberfill, polyfill, etc.)

Finish Size:

Based on “recommended materials,” the doll is approximately 5 inches tall Size may vary

depending on the yarn and size of crochet hook used

Abbreviations:

ch = chain

dc = double crochet

sc = single crochet

Rnd = round

2sctog = 2 single crochet together

sl st = slip stitch

st = stitch

* = repeat instructions between * and *

Instructions:

HEAD

With soft white, work in continuous rounds

Rnd 1: Make a ring with 6 sc (6)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12)

Rnd 3: * sc in first st, 2 sc in next st * - repeat 5 more times (18)

Rnd 4: * sc in first 2 st, 2 sc in next st * - repeat 5 more times (24)

Rnd 7-11: sc in each st around (36)

Rnd 12: * sc in first 4 st, 2sctog * - repeat till end of round (30)

Rnd 15: sc in each st around (18)

Sl st once Fasten off Use black and red yarn to sew eyes and mouth

HAIR

With black, work in continuous rounds

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12)

Rnd 3: * sc in first st, 2 sc in next st * - repeat 5 more times (18)

(Place the hair on the head at Rnd 8 Depending on how you want it to look, you can increase or decrease rounds anywhere between Rnd 7 and 12.)

Sl st once Fasten off Sew the hair to the head

CAP

Mortarboard (make 2):

With blue, ch 10

Row 1-9: sc in each st, ch 1, turn

Row 10: sc in each st

Fasten off

Base:

With blue, ch 18, join circle with sl st

Row 1-2: sc in each st around (18)

Sl st once Fasten off Leave long tail for sewing to one of the square pieces

BODY/GOWN

With blue, work in continuous rounds

Ch 18, join circle with sl st

Rnd 9: front loop only * 2 dc * - repeat till end of round (40)

Sl st once Fasten off

Join yarn on back loop of Rnd 8 and start closing the base as follows:

Rnd 3: * sc in first st, 2sctog * - repeat till end of round (12)

Rnd 4: * 2sctog * - repeat till end of round (6)

Rnd 5: * 2sctog * - repeat till end of round (3)

Fasten off Hide tail inside

With yellow or contrasting color yarn, sew the name of the

graduate and graduation year or anything as you wish See

Stuff the body/gown

HAND/SLEEVES (make 2)

With blue

Rnd 2: 2 sc in first st, then sc till end of round (8)

Rnd 4: 2 sc in first st, then sc till end of round (10)

(Depending on how you want it to look, you can increase or decrease rounds after Rnd 5.)

Sl st once Fasten off Leave long tail for sewing to the body/gown

DIPOLMA

With white

Rnd 2-8: sc in all st (4)

Fasten off Use red yarn to tie a bow in the middle

CORD

With yellow, ch 20 Fasten off (Number of ch may vary depending on the size/height of the doll.)
