There are two animals in the garden at the moment Max is my Rottweiler dog Many people think Rottweilers are dangerous, but Max is very friendly and everybody loves him He's 4 years old

Playing with Max is Hector, our beautiful white cat He's nearly ten years old

There are many other colors in my summer garden In December when it's cold and gray, it's not a very happy place, but now in September, it's wonderful There are the red roses and we have other flowers that are green and yellow

There is a large tent in the middle of the grass, a huge purple tent That's because my brother, Luke, likes camping but my mother doesn't want him to go camping - only in the garden! So he sleeps in the purple tent Luke is only eight years old, so I think my mother is right Camping in the garden is safe for an eight year old

I Ý nghĩa

- There is = there’s và There are = there’re dùng để giới thiệu rằng có cái gì, ai đó hoặc ở đâu trong HIỆN TẠI

Ex: There is an apple on the table

(Có một trái táo trên bàn) Giới thiệu cái gì

There are some students in the class

(Có mấy học sinh trong lớp học) Giới thiệu ai đó

The televison is there

(Cái ti vi ở đó) Giới thiệu ở đâu

II Công thức

1 Thể xác định

There is + danh từ không đếm được (uncoutable nouns) hoặc danh từ số ít (plural nouns)+ trạng ngữ (nếu có)

Note:

- Trước danh từ số ít cần dùng A, AN, THE

- Trước danh từ không đếm được không dùng a/an nhưng có thể thêm NO (không), A LITTLE (một ít), LITTLE (ít), MUCH (nhiều), A LOT OF (nhiều)

Ex: There is a ruler on the desk

(Có một cái thước ở trên bàn)

There is no water in the bottle

(Không có nước trong chai)

There is a lot of sugar in my cup of coffe

(Có rất nhiều đường trong tách cà phê của tôi)

There are + danh từ số nhiều (singular nouns) + trạng ngữ (nếu có)

Note:

- Trước danh từ số nhiều (plural nouns), thường có số từ (one, two, three,…) hoặc MANY (nhiều), A FEW (một số), SOME (vài), A LOT OF ( rất nhiều), NO (không),…

Ex: There are four people in my family

(Nhà tôi có bốn người)

There are a lot of homeless in Nguyen Hue street

(Có rất nhiều người vô gia cư trên đường Nguyễn Huệ)

There are some good people whom you can talk to

(Có vài người tốt mà bạn có thể nói chuyện cùng)

There are no student in the class room

(Không có học sinh nào trong lớp học)

2 Thể phủ định

There is not (there isn’t) + any + danh từ không đếm được (uncountable nouns) hoặc danh từ số ít (singular nouns) + trạng ngữ (nếu có)

Ex: There isn’t any money in my pocket

(Không có xu nào trong túi của tôi)

There isn’t any apple in the table

(Không có trái táo nào trên bàn cả)

There isn’t any salt in your beef-stake

(Không có một chút muối nào trong món bít tết của bạn)

There are not (there aren’t) + danh từ số nhiều (plural nouns) + trạng từ (nếu có)

Ex: There aren’t many taxi in my hometown

(Không có nhiều taxis ở thị trấn của tôi)

There aren’t many animals in the zoo

(Không có nhiều động vật trong sở thú)

There aren't many universities for your choose

(Ở đây không có nhiều trường đại học cho bạn lựa chọn)

3 Thể nghi vấn

Is there any + Danh từ không đếm được (uncountable nouns) hoặc danh từ số ít (singular nouns) + trạng ngữ (nếu có) ?

Ex: Is there any milk in the cup of coffee?

(Có chút sữa nào trong tách cà phê không?)

Anybody there?

(Có ai ở đây không?)

Is there a way to fix this telephone?

(Có cách nào sửa cái điện thoại này không?)

Are there any + danh từ số nhiều (plural nouns) + trạng ngữ (nếu có) ?

Ex: Are there any eggs in the kitchen?
