What kind of music do you like?

Why do you like it?

What do you study English for?

2 Pronunciation: (10’)

Demonstrate the sounds /s / and /z / by

pronouncing them clearly and slowly the words

Sue – said – sip – bus – piece – price

Zoo – please – zip – buzz – peas - prize

Ask Ss to listen and repeat the words twice

Read the sentences twice

Ss work in groups Ss’ answers may vary

Ss listen and repeat

Ask Ss to work in pairs and practice sentences.

Go around and provide help when necessary

3 Grammar and vocabulary (20’)

Exercise 1: to infinitive for purposes

Ask Ss to look at the example in exercise 1 and

explain the meaning of the question structure
