* Pre- teach; vocabulary:

Present “wish”: S + wish(es) + A clause ( in the past)

Lesson 2 : Speak

I-Objectives:

By the end of the lesson ,SS will be able toimprove their speak skill by asking and getting information about village

II-Teaching aids:

Extra – board , poster

III-Procedure :

1.Warm up:

- Ask ss to give the main ideas in the test about Ba’s village

-Ask ss to make sentences with there phrases

Eg: Ba’s village is to the north of Ha Noi

2 Pre – speaking :

- Sets the sence : talk about home village

- Hangs on the extra – board with questions on page 24 on BB

-Reviews W-H questions ( How far….? How long…?)

-Explains the meaning of questions 5

3-While – speaking :

- Asks ss to look at question and then look at the yellow box

-Asks ss to practice in pair the example once ( pink box )

- Asks ss to make a pair of sentences

Ex: How far is it from the city ?

It’s 30 kilometres from the city

 Mapped dialogue :

 - Divide class into two group : Group A and Group B

-Introduces the situation : A student plays the role of the asher, and a student plays the role of student A ( or student B )

- Asks ss to make the dialogue using questions and the information about A’village -Asks ss to look at the map on BB ( not textbook ) and practice the dialogue in pairs

How to get there by bus

How long to get there ? 1hour

Group B : ( similar to group A , but they practice whith B’ s information

- Asks one or two pairs of each group to practice in from class

- Feedback ( correct mistakes if necessary)

- Asks ss to make a table similar to A or B with their own village’s information

 Interview :

-Ask ss to go to BB , and his classmates ask questions about his village – one by one and the ss on BB answer questions

Lesson 3 : Listen I- Objectives: By the end of the lesson , ss will be able to improve their listening

skill and get the main information

II- Teaching aids:

Poster,extra-board , map

III- Procedure:

1 Warm up: “ Simon says”:

Ex: Ss goes to BB and T asks him/her to do request

Teacher : “ Simon says: Go straight ahead ! ”

2 Pre-listening:

- Set the sence : the bus route from the city to Ba’s village

*Hang on the map on BB and ask ss to look at the map

-T explains somethings about the map , such as : to the north,to the west…etc…

- Devide class into 4 groups, ask ss to groups what the letters are

-T writes their prediction on BB

3 While – listening:

* Odering statement :

-Hang on the extra-board with statement on BB:

a) The bus turn left onto a smaller road westward

b) The bus went to the north of city

c) They stopped at the gas station to get some more fuel

d) It clossed a small bambo forest

e) They closed the Dragon Bridge on highway No.1

f) The bus parked at the parking lot near a big old banyan

g) The bus turned right in fron of a store beside a pond

h) they turned left at the next corner near the pond

- Ask ss to look at the statement carefully

- Ask ss to listen to the tape and order the statement as they coud hear

- Let ss listen to the tape turce

-Ask ss to compare their answer

-Ask ss to listen to the tape once more

-Ask student to retell the bus route to Ba’s village adverbs of time : Firsttly, the bus crossed the Dragon Bridge on highway No.1 Next ,it stopped at the gas station to get some more fuel…

Write it up : Ask ss to write the bus route to Ba’s village using adverbs of time

I- Objectives:

By the end of the lesson , ss will be able to improve their reading skill and understand the content of the text

II-Teaching aids:

Poster,extra-board , map

III- Procedure:

1 Warm up:

- SS work in 2 groups

2 Pre – reading :

- Set the sence : “ Van is an exchange student

He is now studying in the USA.He is living on a farm outside Columbus,Ohio

-Pre-teach vocab:

+ Maize (n) = corn

+ hot dogs(n)

+ exchange student(n)

+ standard time(n)

* Note: the Parkers = the Parker family

* T/F Prediction

1 Van is not an exchange student in the USA

2.He lives in Chicago

3.He lives with the Parkers

4 Mr Parker works part-time at a grocery store

-Ask ss to look at word-cues to get main information in their mind ( T notes : the simple past tense to talk about the acyions in the parts)

-Ask one student read aloud the correct writing on BB
