-I/ Aims and objectives:

* Language content :

- To have the students practice writing a letter to a friend

*Language function :

-To enable the students to write a letter about the place they've visited

* Educational aim :

-To help the students describe their trip

1 Language:

a Vocabulary: -range, edge canyon, breathtaking, Stone Age, magnificent

b Structures: The simple past tense

2 Skills: - Integrated skills (especially writing skill)

3 Educational factor:

-To educate the students to have love of nature and country

II/ Teacher and students' preparation:

1 Method : - Communicative approach

2 Techniques: Question-Answer, Write it up, Chain game, Explanation, Game

3 Materials needed: Flashcard, cassette player, poster

4 Students' preparation: New words

5 Previous exercises: How to write a letter about describing their trip

III/ Procedure in class:

1/ Stabilization ( 2ms):

a Warm up: - Greets the students

b Checking absence: - Asks the monitor about the absence

2/ Checking up the previous knowledge : (5 ms )

* Question: Play” Guessing Game”

- Asks the sts to think one of the wonders of the world and write it on a piece

paper

- Calls a student to go in the front of the class with his/ her paper

- Has the rest of the class ask him /her “Yes/ No- questions to guess the wonder

- The sts having the right guess will take the place of the last sts

-Asks the students to answer some questions

1 Where famous places in BinhDinh province?

2 Where did you visit?

* Keys to questions:

-Teacher gives remarks and marks

3/ Presentation of the new materials:

-To help the students proud of their fatherland and logically remember the learnt grammar and structures in unit 14
