Ice Skating
My dad and I have both been waiting Till the ice was right for skating
Today the ice was har
d and thick
We tied our skates and went out quick
I whizzed away and skated fast
My dad came by and skated past
I watched him glide I watched him slide
I hurried till I reached his side

Trang 4We skated round and round the ice.
He held my hand and it was nice
Then he let go and we both tried
To spin and jump and not collide
He did a trick When he was through,
I turned my back and did one too
The ice is hard and winter’s here
This is my favorite time of year

Snow Fort
Who’s inside my snow fort?
Who’s my guest today?
I wonder if a fox stopped by
To r est and chat and play
Who’s inside my snow fort?
A squirr el? A mouse? A
cat?
Perhaps ther
e is a skunk in there,
Sleeping near a bat

Trang 5Making Angels
Look! It must have snowed last night
The world is soft and hushed and white
Let’s go out and look for tracks
And then we’ll lie down on our backs
We’ll rest together on the ground,
And slide our arms and legs around
Then we’ll stand up, and when we go,
We’ll leave two angels in the snow

Skiing
I’m ready with my brand new skis
It’s time to go I bend my knees
I wait a while, and smell the air
The hill is high, but I don’t care
And then at last I’m set to go
I slide my skis around the snow
I take a breath I push away
I feel the breeze I’m on my way

Trang 6My sled is big enough for two
It’s big enough for me and you
You sit in front I’ll sit behind
I’ll hold you tight, if you don’t mind
You can use your feet to steer
We’ll wait until the coast is clear
When we say, “Go,” we’ll feel the air
Swooshing, whooshing in our hair
Zipping, whipping through the snow
People watch from down below
We drag our feet a bit, and then,
It’s time to climb the hill again
