A Tính từ ngắn – là tính từ có 1 âm tiết (fast, fat, thin,cheap…), hoặc có 2 âm tiết kết thúc bắng y (happy/

pretty /noisy/ busy…)

*So sánh hơn của tính từ ngắn: thêm đuôi –ER sau tính từ đó (noisier/faster/fatter…)

*Quy tắc thêm đuôi –ER:

1 Nếu tính từ tận cùng bằng e, ta chỉ cần thêm r

Ví dụ: late => later fine => finer

2 Khi tính từ tận cùng bằng “1 phụ âm + y”, ta biến y thành ier

Vd: heavy => heavierlucky => luckier

3 Ta nhân đôi phụ âm cuối khi tính từ một âm tiết tận cùng bằng “1 phụ âm + 1 nguyên âm + 1 phụ âm”

Ví dụ: big => bigger fat => fatter
