I Warm up ( 5 min ): T greets and introduce name : Hello, I’m Thanh I’m from

Nghi Xuan And you? ( Have S introduce themselves)

II Look, listen and repeat ( 10 min).

1 Newwords:

- good morning: xin chào ( mime and situation)

- good afternoon: xin chào ( mime and situation)

- good evening: xin chào ( mime and situation)

- goodbye: xin chào ( mime and situation)

Checking: W & W

2 Listen and repeat

Set the scene: in the morning, Miss Hien come in the class and greet students

Have S listen to the dialogue

Have S repeat each line

Have S roleplay

Usage: to greet

III Look and say( 10 min ).

- Identify the situation in each picture : names, time…

- Model with picture (a)

- Have S say aloud with each situation

- Practice in pairs

- Call some pairs to model

II Talk ( 10 min )

- Identify the situationin each picture: time and names

- Have S say something to greet in each picture

- T models

- Have S practice in pairs

- Call some pairs to demonstrade

- Give feedback

II Listen and greet.( 10 min ).

Have S listen to the sound and learn to produce them

Have S listen for several times and repeat

Have S listen to the dialogue and repeat

T chant the phrases for S to listen

Get S to chant the phrases in chorus

S practice chant and mime

III Listen and number ( 10 min).

- Identify the situation in each picture : names and the time…

- Ask S to guess what people will say in each situation

- Have S listen and number the right picture they hear

- Play the recording for 2 times

- Ask S to give the answers

- Listen again and check the answers

IV Let’s play ( 10 min ).

II Read and tick ( 15 min )

Ask S to look at the pictures and identify the characters.Ask S to say something in each pictures For examples:

Pictures 1: Hi, Mrs Brown good night, Mrs Brown

Hello, Mr Green Good evening, Mrs/ Mr…

Pictures 2: good morning, goodbye …

Have S read the dialogue and tick on the right pictures

Give feedback: 1a 2b

Have s look at 4 pictures and work in pairs to make the dialogues for themselves.For example:

Dialogue 1a:

Student A: good morning B How are you?

Student B: Good morning A.I’m fine Thank you And you?

Student A: I’m fine Thanks

Dialogue 1b:

Student A: good evening B How are you?

Student B: Good evening A.I’m fine Thank you And you?

Student A: I’m fine Thanks
