LESSON PLAN FOR 4 & 5 – LET’S LEARN ENGLISH 2

Date of planning: Sunday, February 5 th , 2012

Date of teaching: Tuesday, Feb.7 th ; Weds, Feb 8 th and Thu, Feb 9 th , 2012

UNIT 1: MY HOMELAND

LESSON 3 – 4: SECTION B

A. OBJECTIVES

I. Knowledge : By the end of these lessons, sts will have chances to ask and answer about some

one’s homeland

II. Skills : Speaking and writing

III. Teaching aids : lesson plan, mini-boards, laptop…

IV. Teaching methods : Communicative approach.

B. PROCEDURES

I. Class settlement : - Greetings

- Checking attendance

II. Check up : Ask sts to use their mini-boards Write the words having elicited letters on the board

and ask them to complete them

3. W_ _ RE => WHERE

4. SI_ _APO_ _ => SINGAPORE

III. New Lesson:

TIME TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENTS’ ACTIVITES

1. Dialogues

- Review the previous lessons:

- Write four names of countries on the mini-boards

- Ask each sts to stand up and show him one

- Ask him/her the question: “WHERE ARE YOU FROM?”

- Show the names of some students that sts know from the book

* Peter: America

* Alan: Singapore

* Lili: Singapore

* Nam: Vietnam

* Mai: Vietnam

* Linda: England

* John: America

- Ask sts to repeat

- Give out the dialogues:

A: Where is Peter from?

B: He is from America.

A: Where is Lili from?

B: She is from Singapore.

- Ask sts to repeat

- Draw the pictures of those friends and ask sts to look at each and ask and answer about him/her

- Correct their doing and pronunciation

2. Write

- Answer the T’s question

- Look at the board

- Repeat after the T

- Listen to the T

- Repeat after the T

- Make the dialogues

- Tell sts to copy down all and pay attention to the spelling

- Go around and correct their writing

3. Read and answer

- Write the following passage on the board

- Ask sts to read carefully and answer the questions below

Hi, my name is Alan That is A-L-A-N I am ten years old I

am from Singapore.

This is my friend Her name is Lili She is nine years old She is from Singapore, too

QUESTIONS:

a) What is his name?

b) How old is he?

c) Where is he from?

d) What is her name?

e) How old is she?

f) Where is she from?

- Tell sts to answer all the questions and write on the board

- Correct them

- Copy down as carefully as possible

- Read and answer

a. His name is Alan.

b. He is ten years old.

c. He is from Singapore.

d. Her name is Li Li

e. She is nine years old.

f. She is from Singapore.

- Write on the board

- Copy down

-IV. Conclusion : Now, sts can ask and answer about some one’s homeland

V. Homework : - Practice speaking and writing

- Complete the exercises

- Prepare for the coming lessons: unit 2 Lessons 1 & 2
