ABSTRACT
My thesis "Using the DiffServ - MPLS technique to assess the quality of IPTV services" has been studied from February to August 2012 at University of Technical Eductation Ho Chi Minh City
IPTV (Internet protocol television) is the interactive TV service, III which the television signals are distributed on the broadband network Due to the demand of customers is increasing day by day Therefore the quality of service become important for the service providers They want to improve the quality of service and reduce
in estment but they still maintain stability the infrastructure of IP network DiffServ -MPLS technique is one of the techniques to ensure the quality of service - QoS That is the reason I choose the thesis "Using the DiffServ - MPLS technique to assess the quality of IPTV services" On the basis of the papers [6][7][8] [9][ 10] [11][ 12] I extend
to implement my thesis Specifically, there are 6 traffic flows (Video, Voice, Ftp, Http) which are sent to 3 network structures (Baseline; DgfServ, DiffServ - MPLS) and 9

network nodes by the experiments, the Video traf (¢;flows are increasing from low level
to high level and the background traffic load is increasing from 85% to 95% When the network is been congestion, I use CB WFQ and WRED to reduce congestion and have good results I choose OPNET 14.5 to simulate 9 scenarios, I compare and evaluate transmission capacity of the network structures on basis results of the experiments The quality of packets is evaluated by throughput, delay, jitter and packet loss on standard ofIETF RFC 3357 and ITU-TG.114
Basis theory and the results of the experiments, my thesis show the advantages of DiffServ - MPLS technique Combining DiffServ and MPLS improve the quality of
packets and have g od at exploitation and management the network resources, and DiffServ - MPLS is the technique to ensure the quality of IPTV services
