Seafood is an important economic industry which plays a vital role in providing food for humans In Vietnam, it is considered as a key economic sector of the country that it has made significant contribution in export field, jobs creation and increased
foreign exchange earnex, Especially, since Vietnam joined the World Trade Organization
(WTO) and plenty of free trade agreements (FTA), to ensure the integration of the seafood sector, the Party and State have had many relevant programs and policies to
support the development of the seafood sector Thus, the seafood sector had many certain
positive changes and achicvements Vietnamese seafood export tumover increased from 1,478 million USD in 2000 to 6.573 million USD in 2015, thereby contributing significantly to Vietnam's economic development and turning Victnam into one of $ largest scafood exporters in the world Now, the Vietnamese seafood products have been
appeared in 164 countries
Recently, Vietnam has joined many free trade agreements, in which the most
outstanding and noticeable ones are the ‘lrans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership
(TPP), Vietnam - Korea free trade agreement (WKFTA}, Vietuam-EU Free wade agreement (EVFTA) etc These free trade agreements are expected to bring about not only many opportunities, but also challenges for Vietnam’s economy in general and the seafood sector in particular
In fact, Vietnamese seafood has not yet really confirmed its competitive position
in the international market In recent years, the growth of seafoad’s export has achieved a high jevel, but this growth bas still depended mainly on exploiting the available natural
advantages, cost advantage and was from exploiting new markets In other word, these
advantages are not considered as sustainable advantages of Victnamesc scafoad’s industry
To obtain sustainable competitive advantages for Victnam’s seafood, the industry need to have overall direction and solutions to improve its competitiveness The

Thus, die study of “Strengthen Vietnamese seafood’s competitivencss for international economic integration” is really urgent today, not only for the seafood businesses themselves, but also for the management bodies of the state and regions

In this thesis, the author wishes 10 assess the situation of Vietnamese seafood’s competitiveness aud identify factors affecting the seafuod’s competitivencss At the same
lime, the thesis also estimates challenges in which the sectors have to face duc to of
increasingly deeper international economic integration, requirements for enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises in the industry, to create a solid step far the development
of Vietnam’s seafond industry
The research is also expecied to clarify the relationship among crucial factors affecting Vietnamese seafood’s competitiveness, thereby proving the importance of leveraging advantage factors for creating the sustainable competitiveness of Vicmamesc seafood sector
‘Ihe research results will be the legitimate basis for offering soluticns and
proposals to build the sustainable competitive advantages for the Vietnam's seafood in
the context of international economic integration

support the development of the seafood sector Thus, the seafood sector had many certain
positive changes and achicvements Vietnamese seafood export tumover increased from 1,478 million USD in 2000 to 6.573 million USD in 2015, thereby contributing significantly to Vietnam's economic development and turning Victnam into one of $ largest scafood exporters in the world Now, the Vietnamese seafood products have been
appeared in 164 countries
Recently, Vietnam has joined many free trade agreements, in which the most
outstanding and noticeable ones are the ‘lrans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership
(TPP), Vietnam - Korea free trade agreement (WKFTA}, Vietuam-EU Free wade agreement (EVFTA) etc These free trade agreements are expected to bring about not only many opportunities, but also challenges for Vietnam’s economy in general and the seafood sector in particular
In fact, Vietnamese seafood has not yet really confirmed its competitive position
in the international market In recent years, the growth of seafoad’s export has achieved a high jevel, but this growth bas still depended mainly on exploiting the available natural
