PART A THE INTRODUCTION

I The reasons for choosing this theme.

The 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving,creativity, and collaboration demand teachers to increase learner effectivenessand efficiency as well as learner engagement and satisfaction (Kim, 2011).Consequently, they must create a stimulating and effective learning environmentwhich brings about more positive student attitudes toward learning As amandatory subject in the high school curriculum in Vietnam, English iscompulsory from grades 3 to 12 It is one of the tool subjects in high school, thesubject not only helps students form and develop language skills but also meetsthe requirements for high-quality human resources in industrial careers, nationalization, modernization and the period of international integration of thecountry English brings about an important international communication tool forstudents, helps them exchange information and knowledge advanced science andtechnology, understand cultures, thereby contribute to creating understandingbetween peoples, forming global citizen awareness, contributing to thedevelopment of personal qualities and capabilities Through learning Englishand by learning about different cultures, students can understand and love theirown language and culture better English is also directly and indirectly related tointeracting with many other subjects such as Literature, Nature and Society,History and Geography, Art, Physical Education, Information Technology,Experiential activities and a tool for teaching and learning other subjects, especially Math and natural sciences However,on October 18th 2024, theMinistry of Education and Training announced illustrative exam questions forthe high school graduation exam from 2025 Beside familiar forms such asparagraph completion with single words, and reading comprehension in the test, there is the disappearance of previously common types of exercises such ascorrecting errors, rewriting sentences, connecting sentences, and communicationfunctions, and the apprearance of the new kinds of task like completingparagraphs with phrases or sentences, completing the information of theadvertisement or announcement, rearranging the order of the paragraph or letter, paraphasing sentences, mentioning information in which paragraph and bestfitting the sentence in a parapraph It can be clearly seen that the level ofdifficulty of the test is stronger, the classification is stronger, and it focuses moredeeply on students' reading comprehension, information analysis and logicalarrangement skills, closely following the orientation of the competencyassessment test Therefore, guiding students to gradually approach these newtypes of questions is very necessary Eliciting students on how to tackle newtypes of exercises and developing their problem-solving skills is an urgent task

On that basis, when students enter grade 12, they have a long period of time topractice and master the test sets based on the illustrated test structure of theMinistry of Education and Training Consequently, you can achieve the highestresults in the GCSE exam in the new school year That's the reason why I

decided to choose the topic: "Guiding 12 graders at Tinh Gia 1 High School to approach rearrangement questions in the English model GCSE test form
