Born and raised in Thanh Hoa province, I was introduced to products crafted from sedge fiber and duckweed from an early age. Sedge plants are deeply ingrained in the daily lives of rural households, playing essential roles in meals and sleeping arrangements. While nearly every rural household possesses at least one sedge product, such as sedge mats, their prevalence is waning as modern materials replace traditional ones. Consequently, domestic sedge consumption has sharply declined, and the exported sedge output has followed suit. Despite this shift, Thanh Hoa province still maintains over 3,000 hectares of sedge growing areas, yielding an average of 70-80 quintals per hectare. Recognizing the potential to foster trade and support cottage industries and handicrafts, there is a significant opportunity to cultivate stable consumption markets for products derived from sedge and water hyacinth. With this vision in mind, I founded Natural Product Limited Liability Company (Natural Product LLC) in 2022.
